Just got a lanier 4900 fax machine and i don't know how to hook it up no manual

Find a phone cord with plugs on both ends. Take one end and plug it into the phone outlet on the wall. Take the other end and plug it into the outlet on the rear of the fax unit that says "Line".

Instructions for setting up numbers in speed dial for a Lanier 150 fax machine. Seem to have lost the users manual.

Canon Fax L220

From previous experience it is a compatability problem stemming from propritary transmission modes. Not sure what model Lanier fax is but they can disable some optional transmission modes first. Otherwise if this person is important you can tell that person to force transmit to you at 9600bps.
