Blinking lights & offline-use printer offline

Thanks for that jzxeg & tom... but it didn't solve my problem. i have a new cartridge and display online didn't work as well. you see, the normal printer status in printers and faxes is HP Deskjet D2300 series, if you right click it there is the option to use printer offline and after that you can change it again to use printer online right? but in my case my status is HP Deskjet D2300 offline, and when i change it becomes HP Deskjet D2300 offline-use printer offline. it never change to online and the line just keep on blinking and can't turn off the power too. unless i unplug it. but when i plug it again, the light bliks again.

Replace ink cartridge

    Clean (wipe) your cartridge's e-connector (a film like strip at the back of the cartridge. use water and cloth (cotton).



    Clean the other film like line that stretches from side to side located inside and at the back of the cartridge bay.

Make sure that cable to printer is attached and if printer still shows offline then in control panel for the printers make sure that you right click and choose Use Printer Online

What the flashing light means

I have two cartridges which i have refilled but
  1. Check your usb cable.
  1. Try removing the printer's installation by going to control panel, add or remove programs, locate your printer and click on remove. Then install it back again. If you do not have the installation disc, download the drivers from HP's site. Just choose your OS and click on download.

Hi I have exactly the same problem, and can't scan or make copies. I went to HP Online, and tried their advice, which didn't work. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00867129&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3177566&rule=25623〈=enHP's solution made me realise it might be a scanner problem. I made a wild guess and kept the cover above the glass panel open. Turn off your printer, lift the cover up and turn on again. The lights should stop blinking and you should be able to scan/copy/print. I guess the cover prohibits the device to scan properly causing the blinking lights. Hope this helps!
