Hi Albert, for what you say, COM ERROR, corresponds to an internal communication problem, try disconnecting the TEAC, from the power outlet, wait a couple of minutes and reconnect it, the problem should be solved
This is indicated on page 26 of the User Manual
If not, you would have a more complicated problem and I suggest you consult a specialized technical service
I hope you can solve the problem
Greetings Franco Dosil

SOURCE: Won"t see blank disc
given my experience with memorex blanks, i think that you should just switch to another brand....memorex made great tape....the cd blanks are another story. I recommend, if you can find them, FUJI blanks that are made in Japan; they have a reputation as some of the best.
SOURCE: How do I Record a cd. On my Teac RW-d250 Cd
Im not sure if this is supporting the live recording from a tape ..cause this will require to have internal memory and I do not know the specs for it ...but you can use the cassette player in it //and connect to a computer and use a real program for to a better control ..
here is explained and step by step guidance ..and the recommended free program After you have them in mp3 format it is easy to transfer them where ever you like ..
(for to record them using just the teac player ..it should have internal memory ..and you should record them while playing the cassettes..after that burn the disk from the digital memory ..)
or ..the easy way is connecting the signal from it to a computer line in ..and use the recording software ..

Hello
Can you hear the motor running, when you press any of the Play, Rew or FF buttons?. Just place your ear very close to the player and listen to it. If the answer is 'yes', the drive belt is broken or slipped off. You have to replace the drive belt. If the answer is 'no' the motor of your device's drive mechanism has damaged, and should be replaced. OK.
WISH YOU A PROSPEROUS 2012.
