SOURCE: no olympus digital recorder vn2100pc vista 64 bit driver

This is because this device will never be compatible with a 64 bit VISTA OS. Olympus now has a VN-3200PC or VN-5200PC that are compatible with the 64 bit VISTA OS platform.

SOURCE: My Cannon Powershot G9 camera

That's a typical power problem in this camera, it probably has a short from some loose screws inside. This is a common thing on your model, you can just have it fixed and the screws inside the camera corrected so they can't come loose on their own again. The site that does the service on the Canon Powershots that is wonderful is: www.camerasandparts.com They only work on the Canons and they are terrific for service on these. They don't charge much at all and they include the correction to the screws that come loose on all G9's when they service them. Good luck having it fixed up, that site is where many people go for help with this power problem on the G9's

The Olympus DS-330 read only memory lock

You may need to format the recorder to clean the file system on the recorder. Follow the directions below to format: If you format the recorder, all function settings will return to their defaults*. All files** stored in the recorder will be deleted. If you have important files that you want to save, connect the recorder to a computer and transfer those files from the recorder to the computer before formatting the device. * Date and time settings won't be cleared, so you won't need to set them again. ** Locked files will also be deleted. 1 Press and hold the FOLDER/MENU button for 1 second or longer. The menu opens. 2 Press the up or down arrows button to choose "FORMAT". 3 Press the REC/SET button again. 4 Press the FF or REW to choose "START". 5 Press the REC/SET button. Formatting starts. "FORMAT DONE" displays when formatting ends.

The new button on my digital recorder is not working

Olympus will charge a flat rate repair fee for this product. The cost is $96 plus your local sales tax. This covers parts and labor, factory cleaning and diagnostic check, 6 month warranty and the cost of shipping the product back to you is all included in that price.
You may want to call Olympus Customer Service to discuss how you send it in to them for repair. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3.

I have an Olympus WS-311M but cant record after playing back file

Unfortunately that is not possible with this recorder to be able to replay a part of a recording and record over it. If you pause it will just allow you to continue from the point where the device was stopped. You might want to check out the DS-2300 or the DS-2400 model recorders as those devices have the ability to do what you are asking.

How do you edit a recording on an Olympus DS-30 dictatation machine. All I want to do is record over what I have dictated but the machine just creates a new file everytime I press the record button again....

Unfortunately with this recorder it is not possible to edit over a previously recorded file. Each time you hit record and then stop it will create a new file each time. That's the way the recorder is designed. If you need to be able to stay within the same file you may want to check out the DS-2300 or the DS-2400 as it has a NEW button on it that allows you to stay within the same file until you press NEW to start a new file.

The Play button controls speed of play back. If you hold the button two long it changes the speed. Press Play and then release and press again until the speed you are looking for is obtained. Be careful not to push the play button mulitple times once it is correct.

Is it possible to stop recording without opening a new file?

you can not do this with the Olympus ws-100, you need a dictation machine that has the editing function which allows you to easily insert, overwrite, partially erase files and continue on the same file, most of the digital dictation units have NEW FILE BUTTON , you will stay recording on the same file till you press new.
Look at Olympus DS-2300. Olympus DS-33300 or ds-4000.

Olympus DS30 voice recorder play speed issue

Hi, the solution to the problem seems to be the following. When u press play, once, you get 1x play. If whilst playing you press play a second time the DS-30 goes into slow play mode, and if you press a second time it goes into fast mode. For those of us who accidentally went into either fast or slow mode, just press the play button again, during playback, until "play" appears on the LCD screen. Apparently it is as simple as that.
