My bladeless fan has an intermittent fault, sometimes not turning on. If I lay it down and roll it back and forth this usually fixes it. Now there's a green symbol flashing next to the speed number.

SOURCE: Intermittent Lights, Speedo, and Fan Problems

HI...
On your VOLVO 850.
The Head Lights are Relatinated Directtly with the Ignition switch.
The ignition switch send 12v. Power to the MAIN HEAD LIGHT RELAY and BULB FAILURE WARNIG SENSOR. Incorporated in the Same relay.
Very Important check the Battery terminals, And few ground Below the Battery Holder.
The turn signal switch , has the Funtion to Change the Head lights to LOW or HIGH Beam.
Check for proper funtion.
On left side of the Engine compartment In the Fuse block.
Check the FUSE # 13, 15amp. Replace if need.
The TURN signal work with the Same FUSE # 13. 15 amp.
Related with the Turn Signal switch.
Ok. The blower MOTOR.
Some times work And some times not.
Check the ground wire "BLACK" Below right side of Instrument Panel. If the ground is OK..
Turn the Ignition key to RUN position,
SET the A/C fan to MAX position or HIGH position.
When the Fan is set to High The system make a BY pass At the Blowert motor REsistor. and use a Blower motor Realy to give a High speed.
Using a TEST LIGHT,
Check if There a POWER 12v. at the Green/red Wire.
If you found Power . Check if there a Negative 12v. at the Black WIRE. If you found negative 12v.
Replace the BLOWER MOTOR..
For the Instrument Panel. I recomend Check the FUSE # 3
In the fuse box, Left Rear of the engine compartment.
If the fuse is ok. Check for Power 12v. if you found power
check all the grounds. But if NOT. I recomend Replace the Ignition switch. Because can be the Cause of the Electrical problem in your car.

OK.. I hope this help to try diagnostic your vehicle.
Thank you for use fixya.

SOURCE: oil gauge fluctuates back and forth. sometimes

You'll need to determine if the oil pressure is actually changing, or if the sending unit or gauge is lying to you. Be certain the oil level is up to normal, then check the actual oil pressure with a test gauge. If the pressure varies (drops) at engine idle, perhaps your pressure bypass is defective, or perhaps the oil pump is worn. Testing with a known good pressure gauge should lead you in the right direction.

SOURCE: How to fix 1999 lincoln TC heater/AC fan speed.

You have a problem with the resistors on your blower motor. 95% of AC/Heater blower motors are located under the glove box in the passanger foot well. When you remove the motor you should see a resistor plate. Resistors are not servicable and will need to be replaced. This is a relatively cheap part, that you can replace yourself if your handy, if not take it to your local tech.

I have a 2004 pontiac montana the passenger side window will roll down but not up I ahve installed a new motor and new switch how do i fix this

The problem usually is a broken wire in the harness where the door is hinged. Opening and closing the door bends the wire back and forth and eventually breaks it.

Can not get automatic column shifter on 1996 Chevrolet silverado to come out of park when trying to drive truck unless turn truck back off roll vehicle back and forth while in park then try again usually...

Usually the problem of not getting out of park is caused by the brake switch or the solenoid that locks the shifter in park.
The brake switch cuts off or applies power to the solenoid.
But if you have to rock the truck to get it out the problem could be something inside the transmission.

My heater has stopped working and ive checked the fuses and its not them what should i try next

Hi,
There is a blower motor resistor , located in the air duct coming from the blower assy. This will have 4/5 wires attached which determine the speed of the motor blower. This will determine the fan speeds depending on the resistor combinations selected. Sometimes the fastest blower speed will work because it has no resistance and gets full voltage.
You can also check the plug going into the fan assy , the plug may have reecieved a knock from a foot and become loose! A circuit tester will be a great help also . Good Luck

Front airbags go up sometimes n sometimes it takes them a while to go up oc i turn off the navi front air bags go down after an hour or 2

your airbag diagnostic module senses an intermittent fault and needs to be fixed at once cause it might not deploy the airbag module in the event of a collision. This symptom needs to be checked in a workshop using a diagnostic computer to find out the fault code. Its not an owner quick fix

There is a trouble some flap to blame for your problems ( part number # 68004226AB). This flap is made of cheap plastic and moves back and forth when u press the recirculation button. The part that slips on the motor breaks. When this happens the flap will fall over the hole for the fan to pull air. This might be why u are seeing hesitation in the fan. Sometimes when u stop that flap covers the hole, sometimes it dosent.

Easy way to fix this trouble some door is to remove the air bag, then cut out plastic grid that is over housing (try not to let any of the grid fall inside the housing this might break the some of the fan blades) you will then see the door laying at the bottom. Then Pull the motor off the side of housing, slide old door out then new one in. This is the easy way the other way is, well lets say trouble some.

Audi A4 1.8T 1999 Faulty interior fan

This isn't the failure I am accustomed to seeing with blower fans which is a problem with speed controls and only the highest speed working due to a defective multitap resistor.
Your problem sounds a lot like a faulty (or failing) switch or possibly a connector that is no longer contacting as it should.
Try moving the speed control back and forth multiple times to see if this affects the fan startup. If it does, then the control itself has failing contacts.  If this has no effect, then the blower motor brushes may be growing too short from not being pushed by a light spring that should push the brushes inward to compensate for the normal wear. Sometimes the guides in which the brushes sit are gummed up so the little bit of spring tension isn't adequate to overcome the stickiness in the guides.
