As far as I know you cannot, you will need it to be in the devices list online, or find somebody with the remote to program it.
You should also be able to get the company.. Yamaha to send you the codes or send them directly to Logitech to get them added to the database.

SOURCE: Problem is starting Auto Setup on my Yamaha rx-v463 receiver

You need to press the AMP button before you press the ENTER button. Always press AMP first when selecting menu, enter, any surround mode, or one of the amp functions in ORANGE above the green numeric buttons.

Got this from Yamaha.

I have a AV receiver RX-V440 Yamaha and........

The title of your question reads "I have a AV receiver RX-V440 Yamaha..." yet you say you are using the manual of an RX 1020L. I will try to provide a suitable answer for both receivers.

First, a "MON" connections on an amplifier or switching unit is normally used as a line level OUTPUT from the amplifier or switch. Line level outputs are sent to RCA connectors on other TVs or amplifiers (or switches).

"MON" should not be wired directly to the OUTPUT of anything trying to "playback". It should be connected only to things that can record or allow you to see or hear what the amplifier is outputing.

Now to answer your question:

The RX-V440 is a 6.1 channel Home Theater Receiver. If you stand behind the receiver and look at the left hand side, you will see 12 RCA connectors (2 L/R by 6 high). The top 2 connectors are labeled "CD". The next set of 2 connectors are labeled "IN/(PLAY)". The third set down from the top are labeled "OUT/(REC)".

You can connect the reel-to-reel output to either CD or IN. If the reel-to-reel has a selector switch, set it to "Output" and not "Monitor". If the reel-to-reel has volume controls, set them such that music causes can be heard when you select CD or IN on the RX-V440.

The RX 1020L is also a multi-channel receiver. If you stand behind the receiver and look at the left hand side near the center (top to bottom) of the receiver, you will see RCA connectors labeled "AUDIO 1" through "AUDIO 4".

You can connect the reel-to-reel output to either of these. The primary purpose for "AUDIO 3" and "AUDIO 4" is to allow you to hear component video input AV1 and AV2. If the reel-to-reel has a selector switch, set it to "Output" and not "Monitor". If the reel-to-reel has volume controls, set them such that music causes can be heard when you select one of the "AUDIO 1", "AUDIO 2" or whatever on the RX 1020L receiver.

I own a Yamaha RX-V461 and since making a few changes, new Bravia TV and BLu-Ray DVD player, I no longer jhave sub woofer output. I bought a new sub woofer cable and even bought a new Polk 8" 300watt sub....

You can reset the settings to factory defaults via the Advanced menu - it should be in your manual (I have RX-V465).
Do it from the standby mode.
Press the STANDBY button on front panel (not remote) together with STRAIGHT button on the front panel. Now you are in the Advanced Setup. Scroll to the INIT menu and select ALL.
Now you will have all settings in the default.

Hi,
I don't have manual here, but try to go to Setup menu / Speaker setup / Manual Setup / Config and check if rear speakers are NOT set to None.
