I have a Master Chef ice maker mcim30sst and the silver nipple things freeze up before any water comes out.... Help please why....

After cleaning out the machine, please double check that it's not attempting to cool any object that's extremely hot. Also, you might want to switch power outlets and test the cooling again. Then if still not working, you can use the troubleshooting section of the manual to help overcome the issue. Thank you.

Sounds like unit not getting cold enough to freeze ice. Maybe Blockage or leak in sealed system.

These places look like the real thing to me. Keep all your documentation in relation to an order in case you need to refer to it.

If you just started having this problem now and it was making the right size ice before then i would first look at cleaning the ice machine including the condenser coil. second thing make sure that the water inlet valve is not seeping water by when it is in freeze mode just a little warmer water will cause it to not make good ice and a longer freeze time. last thing would be to adjust the I.S.Adjust: Ice size adjustment on the control board. Turn screw clockwise, and the size of individual ice cubes will be larger in the next cycle; the cycle time will be longer. Turn the screw counter-clockwise, and the ice will be smaller in the next cycle. only do this if every thing ealse checks out good.

Sounds like you have a seal problem ,see if you can replicate it and watch it and see where it comes out,or can be the shut off solenoid (valve) or freon is low and not cold enough to make enough ice and I'm talking about on the ice unit itself ,not the freezer. Only thing you can do is activate it with the bar and see what happens,that will tell you where the problem lies

This answer came straight from the manufacture:

Stop the ice maker, and restart when the ice blocks melt. Select the
small ice size. Also Change the water in the reservoir.
Use water between 45 -90 F.

Not sure if that will do it but that is the only fix we could find straight from the manufacture. We wish you the best.

Several things can cause this issue.
1. Failed ice maker (overfilling)
You can easily replace the icemaker.

2. Bad main computer. Or some one over adjusted the fill time on the computer.


3. bad water valve.

I have the same problem as above with my portable ice maker. The water is not getting to the trey for the rods to freeze it. I checked and don't think the tubes have any blockage.

Hollow ice is a sign that the icemaker is not getting enough water.
You will want to make sure there is enough water coming to the fridge and any filters in the system are clean.
