We've probably tried every coffee maker ever made..but this time..we decided to go TOP SHELF, with a new Quisinart. The coffee flavor is excellent...it's fast..and the coffee comes out HOT!
A few days after getting the coffee maker, we started noticing a small puddle of CLEAR water around the base At first, we thought we were perhaps just sloppy..and missing the area when pouring in the fresh water..but the water problem didn't stop, after being very careful. I'd say, we get about 1/4 cup of CLEAR water..then it seems to stop, when going thru the brewing process. Part of our routine now, is to place a kitchen towel under the coffee maker...to absorb the water..but if there's an easy fix to this problem, we would be so greatful to know about it. Like I said earlier, it's makes the perfect cup of coffee...the only complaint, is the leakage issue. Many Thanks!
I have the same issue with water puddles. I spend more time mopping up than making the actual coffee but I havent figured out how to stop it.I have the same issue with water puddles. I spend more time mopping up than making the actual coffee but I havent figured out how to stop it.
I have the same problem: great machine in every other respect but leaves a puddle of clear water after coffee is made and in particular if I move the unit, even slightly, from the location where it made the coffee. Movement will result in spill each time. I suspect it is the condesation that builds on the inside and somehow collects in the tray in the bottom, but I am not 100% on this. I returned the first unit with this problem and am on the second one. Sure would like a solution.I have the same problem: great machine in every other respect but leaves a puddle of clear water after coffee is made and in particular if I move the unit, even slightly, from the location where it made the coffee. I never make 12 cups of coffee...usually 6-8, and I still have a water leak problem as the others describe. I have cleaned it with vinegar, but it still leaks....we have filtered water.I never make 12 cups of coffee...usually 6-8, and I still have a water leak problem as the others describe. The puddle of water is not from over filling the unit, it is most likely caused by a defect in the unit. Please see my post about calling Cuisinart Customer Service regarding this exact problem my machine has.
If the DCC-2000m is filled past the 12-cup mark, there is a spill gauge at the back that will allow the coffeemaker to keep the cup count exactly at 12 cups.

They sell a cleaner that you use in the reservoir. It will go through the system and clean up any build up. Do a search on line or check your manual for the name.
cuisinart DCC-2800 leaks water from under side, after 5 months the lid spring lock broke'.. then only after about a year and a half, and just out of warranty!!!!!!!, it must have sat on the store shelf over a year before we purchased it new. bad design for such a costly coffee maker and Cuisinart was not much help either when we called, I called several months earlier to get the problem fixed but was told to call back because there system was down for maintenance, so now when I had the chance to call back they tell me they did not want to fix it and only offered me a discount on a new one, why would I want to buy another when I spent sooo much on this one only to have water leaking all over my counter, table, chairs and floor'? never again, next one will be all stainless so it wont leak. so do not have to worry about asking for help again on such a expensive coffee maker.
This problem is caused by a clogged water filter in the unit.
Unplug the coffee maker.
Open the top panel where you normally pour in the water and set the coffee filter.
Gently pull up on the tap that sticks up in the back left corner of the open top. This will free a long plastic part that has a compartment at the bottom that contains a filter filled with charcoal.
Unsnap the small compartment that holds the filter and clean it gently under running water with light brushing.
If there is a lot of coffee build-up, the water chamber where you normally pour in fresh water needs to be cleaned out. Pour in a cup of water and invert the unit over a large sink pouring out the water through the opening you normally use to fill the unit.
Repeat this until you remove the coffee grounds.
Let the unit dry fully before plugging in to run again.
Brewed coffee has a palatable life-span of maybe an hour before it loses flavor. I don't recommend keeping it any longer. The thermos should keep your coffee hot enough to drink for some time. If you really want to drink from that same pot all day long, I'd probably just reheat a cup at a time in a microwave.
Go ahead and replace the charcoal water filters on the Cuisinart- they are usually available at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Before you insert the new filters, run a pot of water only through the coffee maker with 2 tsps lemon juice per cup of water. Also, make sure you don't use the 1-4 cup setting - it actually double-heats the water. Hopefully, this should resolve the issue. Good luck!
We have had our DCC-1200 for 3 months. The plastic taste occurs about every 3rd pot, and it does NOT get better. We've wasted over a pound of coffee. Cuisinart says we are the only people in the world with the problem. Well, I guess not...
The 1-4 cup setting actually loops the water through the heating element twice. It's a good wrokaround for people who like extremely hot coffee, but not for iced coffee fans like me.
