SOURCE: You do not have a

Sorry about the unavailability of the Ham radio segment. When the volume is low usually this depends on the radio channel on which the transmission is going out on. But if the problem is not from the channel then definitely the IC for the microphone is partly responsible for the volume of transmissions which go out of the unit. Get the microphone cheched as well as the ic which supplies the mic. Often times the mic could be faulty and therefore not capture the voices well. If you have another mic you can test and get back to me for more trouble shooting tips.

Baofeng uv-5r will not transmit

Sounds like you have the transmit lockout set. this radio is a bit of a pain to program, but is well worth the effort. your best bet is save your settings (backup) and do a full factory reset, and start over, making sure you did not lock out the transmit on any channel or VFO...

Baofang UV-5r will not accept vfo to memory

Hi Gary,

Yet another chinese made radio.

Maybe they will make something good, but don't hold your breath.

I'm not against the people, but the companies that make stuff, including Motorola radio under license.

All these Chinese radios are mass produced to a fixed price and dubious standards.

I bought an FDP & Oricom CB radios, only to open the packaging and find they were made in China, from there on things began failing very quickly.

Getting back to your query... I take it you don't have the user manual, is that correct? If so, your best bet is to find a friend who can communicate in Manderin, which is the most used languge in China, and have them find the Baofang website and follow the links to service/help section, and to see if a copy of the user manual in english is available for download.

If this fails, then unless you know someone with a similar model radio with manual, and if they can make a copy for you.

If that doesn't work, ooops! you've used up all your avenues for help.

Sorry if I haven't helped you.

Best wishes,
Peter

VX-5500 LowBand change power to 20 or 50 watt to suit power amplifier.

The channels can be programmed for either low or high power on a per channel basis. Perhaps I do not understand what you are doing? It would be easy to program each channel to 20 watts. I would take the high power and turn it down since the low power setting from the factory is usually under 20 watts.

Can't change channels.

you can also buy a universal remote and it might help you. keep in mind, the remotes don't always have the right buttons labeled, so sometimes you have to try all of them first before finding the right button to bring up the setup menu.

AXU4100 Manual or help

Hi,

On a Motorola AXU Series (including the 4100):
1. To unlock, press the “D” button for about a second or until the circle is gone. The circle with the line thru is the keyboard lock indicator;
2. To change channel, you need to press either the arrow left or right in Normal Mode;
3. To change PL (assigned to a channel), don’t think this can be done by the user
4. To change Ch. 1 from 464.500 MHz (PL-67.0) to 463.525 (PL-136.5), don’t think this can also be done by the user.

Even the built-in Programming Mode Parameters do not have this option to change assigned frequencies and PLs. An external programming software using a PC may or may not allow this.

These radios came pre-loaded with its channels assigned with specific frequencies/PLs. As used in a Motorola AXU411, they are:

Channel Frequency PL
1 464.500 67.0
2 464.500 77.0
3 464.500 88.5
4 464.500 179.9
5 464.500 None
6 464.550 67.0
7 464.550 82.5
8 464.550 94.8
9 464.550 179.9
10 464.550 None

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
