Hi, My daewoo frs-U20iAi fridge freezer fan in the fridge side makes an annoying noise when doors closed. No obvious ice build up or other problems. Any ideas?

worthwhile checking closer. noisy fan can be due to fan blade hitting ice if there has been a build-up. otherwise needs replacing

SOURCE: samsung side by side refridgerator making noise and freezing

its a heater cycle problem..the defroster is not working properly. its building up ice in the evaporator that touches the evaporator fan that makes that loud noise but stops when you open a door. it could be either a bad heater, a bad thermo disc or a bad timer.hope i was able to help

SOURCE: loud noise from the freezer side

The problem is a buildup of ice on the plastic housing (the curved plastic bit) in the back of the freezer under the fixed shelf where the icetub goes. The fan behind this plastic housing is hitting the ice when the defrost comes on.

Unplug the fridge, unpack the freezer, remove the four screws in the back, take off the sheetmetal backing and let the fridge thaw. You can remove the plastic piece after a while and get the ice off (be careful not to remove the styrofoam insulation by going too quickly).

Reassemble and you're back in business, for a few months. I'm never buying Samsung again myself.

My daewoo model frs-u20iai fridge freezer fan is not spinning

This could be the fan or the switch that controls that defrost cycle. The only way to tell is to use a volt meter to see if there is electric current to the fan motor. IF there is current, replace the fan.

Daewoo side by side fridge freezer FRS-U201CW-N186. Freezer is not self defrosting and fridge isn't maintaining a cold temperature

start with locating and cycling the defrost timer switch, generally found in the refrigerator side. The timer controls a heating element designed to melt off ice build up on the interior freezer coils. if the timer is bad, ice will build up, blocking air flow to the refrigerator section (making it not cool) and eventually build up enough so that the internal fan actually hits ice, making unusual noises. most timers can be manually driven with a flat head screwdriver, do it with the power connected, when you reach the defrost cycle you will hear the fans and compressor shut off, and you should be able to feel warmth on the back panel in the freezer after a few minutes.

if you find the timer isn't working properly, it is not difficult to replace, take your time, take pictures as you go along so reassembly is easier, and of course have the frige unplugged when you do it.
