    i have loaded an mp3 file onto the HDD of my player but when i load it up it says it has no tracks. when opened on my pc it does not not have a directory. is this a problem? if so how can i fix it?

    reformatted the unit and now it is unusable...need to restore original software

Format the drive and use "safely remove hardware" function to diconnect it from the usb from now on. no lawsuit required

    another solution i tried is : erase all information from the device ,take the battery out....make sure the item is not connected to the network in the following 10 minutes, because its going to loose the reserve power,,, then connect the device without a battery on, reformat the device, put it on a default mode, and run the antivirus into the device....but if it doesnt work, the best solution will be the lawyer and the lawsuit.. cause its making people loose there money in big amounts,because its not expensive, and not only one person buys this stufff...imagine that the error 41 is in a million of devices, it will make nextar corp.. more wealthy.....

Corrupt or unreadable error message
You can use free softwares such as Pandora Recovery to recover data. I cannot guarantee that it will recover any, but it doesn't hurt to try. There are also a lot of other payware softwares you can try if you think it would help.

The directory is like a "table of contents" in a printed textbook.

If a child's crayons have been used to overwrite those pages, making them unreadable, then the table of contents cannot be used to locate the starting page-number of a specific chapter. So, one must read through the whole textbook, page-by-page, looking & trying to recognize the start of a chapter, and then the end of the chapter.

Similarly, there exist "file-recovery" computer software programs that do such "linear" reading of the entire ZIP disk, and trying to reconstruct the "file-structure" that was recorded in the "disk-directory".

Search for "file scavenger" software, and give it a try.

My zen stone mp3 player is corrupted and unreadable
Try to do a right click on the zen in My computer and seelct Format. This will wipeout everything that is there on the player and you'll need to copy stuff to it again. If you are unable to format the player then this could be a hardware failure.

External hard disk unreadable
Your hard-drive is crashed and unreadable by win32.dll what you can do is try kick starting by using your friend computer it just might do it. I had same problem and I asked my son to using my hard-drive on his PC. It worked and still working. good luck

first, and this is always good: If available, firmware for the Rio Carbon can be downloaded online. Second, this might be the problem: The Rio Carbon communicates with your computer differently in MTP mode than it does in MSC mode. When in MTP mode, the Rio Carbon cannot display hidden files in folders, cannot allow transfers to the root Rio Carbon directory, and cannot allow the creation of new folders.
