My 5 yr old thought it would be smart to spray a squirt gun on the screen. It seems some water got inside the screen b/c now we have a blacked out and smudged part of the tv screen. The water is dry now, but wondering how to get rid of that blacked out part of the screen.

If paint comes out of the spray gun after you release the handle, your problem is inside the gun. If the needle tip or seat are damaged or the spring that holds them closed is broken, paint will be able to get past the the needle and will come out of the gun even when the handle isn't held open. The stock spray gun that comes with the the XR5 doesn't have any servicable parts inside it so if it isn't working properly it may be garbage fodder. If you have an aftermarket gun, rebuild kits may be available.
sounds like nozzle is blocked.small bits of grit jam nozzle unscrew and make sure its clear turn water on and pull trigger to see if gun trigger works, then refit nozzle check again for spray.if clear start up and try out.if no go then pump probably needs cleaning and relubing seals.
Three guns Red Blue and Green in the picture tube of an old CRT set. If one of the guns goes out it effects that color. Sounds like one of the guns inside of the tube is going out, To costly to replace for such an old antilog set that will have to have a convertor box next month anyway.
Hopefully this solution is for the model you have:
Does water squirt out of the hose nozzle, if it does, then check the heater inside the handle asm. Make sure that where the tubes hook up to it are not clogged. If water doesn't squirt, check for the seal at the bottom of the tank, it needs to be on the tank, not in the hole, this is for the soap bottle also, there is a seal on the bottom of it as well. The flow indictor cap is leaking air or maybe is too tight. If you had the top cover off, make sure that the tubes are routed right so as not to get pinched when the cover is put back on, the smart mix knob should be in the water setting and that the piston is on the bottom of the smart mix knob. Pump is bad. Try running a mix of vinegar and water to see if that unclogs the lines. Is the top cover and the base tight together in the back, sometimes the top breaks loose and it will raise up and it can't spray, just re-fasten it down.

Is it spraying? Is so, maybe the cap for the indictor can be too tight, or loose, maybe be bad and allowing an air leak. The white filter under the indictor may need to be cleaned. If no spray:
