Check the pressure for each of the clutch packs through the test ports with a pressure gauge, sounds like you are losing pressure when the oil is hot and thin. Have the engine at running temp when testing,
also test the charge pump pressure for system pressure.

Are the actual shifter levers not engaging or are the switches not clicking?
These Peg Perego Parts are available at http://www.shopjandl.com/, but I would check to make sure if it is the switches specifically or the levers under the shifter.
It is simple to check the shifter by taking the 2 screws out that hold the shifter in.
