Fuel issue, adjust carb, fuel lines, and or rebuild carb.

I'd put my money on it being the actual carb body. The carb body its self contains a couple of small valves which can get blocked or damaged and are practically impossible to replace. Look for a second hand OEM carb and if needed use your rebuild kit on it. That would be the cheapest route

Duane:

Take the saw and open the gas tank. There should be two lines going into the tank, one for the primer bulb and the other (with a line-end filter) feeds the engine while running. Make sure that the line-end filter is submerged in the gas in the tank. If the saw still won't start or run, you probably have a diaphragm in the carburetor that is torn (from letting the saw sit for a long period of time). You may need to rebuild the carburetor. A carburetor rebuild kit can be bought for very little $$ at a lawnmower repair shop.

The best thing and not so cheap is to replace the points with a electronic ignition coil. We do this at our shop all the time.

disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner.Makesure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to see daylightthrough it.)

Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.
