You may try first to reset the SC 542 before calling a technician!
That you can do by following method:
1.Turn the machine off and then after 5 second turn it on while pressing the “On Line” key and “Escape” key together until “SYSTEMver x.xx/1. Service” shows on the display.
2.Use the “Up/Down arrow” keys to scroll through the menu listing.
3. Press the (OK) key while on the display writes " 2. Engine " .
4.go to "[5810 001] - Fusing SC Reset" by scrolling the “Up/Down arrow” keys and press the [OK] key (on the display should write execute or done) press [OK] again if is needed to press it.
5. After this turn off and than after 5 second turn it on the machine.
Please do not change nothing else in this menu only reset the fusing unit SC code, because if you change some other values and settings you might to regret that and pay high price for that.
So only reset the Fuser SC code SC542 by the upper mentioned method and do nothing else, if the SC code appear again then do not try this again because you might burn some parts.
If this do not help than call the technician.
Please answer do this is helpful for i to know do the problem was solved.

SOURCE: Ricoh Aficio SP C420dn Printer. The printer at
sc491 is a high voltage output error. Combined with your jamming issue, it sounds like a possible electrical problem somewhere. A good first step is to turn the machine off and unplug it, then take off the covers and reset any connections or cables you can get to.
If the problem persists, you should have a service technician take a look at it because it might need a board replaced.

sc270 is an error with the shutter on the laser unit. Turn the machine completely off and then back on -- if the error doesn't clear, the shutter sensor or motor will likely need to be replaced.

Ricoh sense toner in the following methods: If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response Thanks, Joe
Toner Near End
To detect the toner near-end, the machine uses:
Pixel count (memory chip on the AIO)
AIO rotation distance (memory chip on the AIO)
Toner End
To detect toner end the machine uses:
Output from the TM sensor (center)
After near-end, it is estimated that 200 pages (A4, 5% coverage) can be printed until toner
end occurs.

SOURCE: My Ricoh Aficio SP C420DN Laser Printer shows color tone SC366 and some time SC365, any ideas?
You just have a problem with colour PCU (SC 365 - magenta, SC366 - cyan). The main reason is that toner density is abnormal. Sometimes, when you replace toners, printer receive to much toner for a short time, and after that you have an abnormal toner density (higher). You can check in service mode (hold up and down arrows for 6-7 sec, release them and press ok button) following thing :
choose 2. engine
then with arrows choose 3. process
then choose Vt display,
for each color by default there should by somewhere arround 2.4V. If you see for some colors, for example 0.02V, then this is a problem(to much toner). In this case the only thing that you can do is to restart printer and try to print enough pages, filled with problem color. Usually you can print max 3 pages. Then restart printer and try another 3 pages. Print until the you will be able to print at least 4 pages continuously.
Good luck and remember that this is a technical problem and you should ask someone qualified for the job. I am sure that 80% of service engineers can't repair this issue. But I can.
