I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash 665.13749K603 the the keypad will not light up or respond. When I plug it in and close the door, it attempts a drain cycle for a few minutes and then shuts off. Unplugging will not reset the keypad. I’ve already replaced the thermal cut off fuse with no change. I used an Ohm meter to test the 14pin connector and it has current. Suggestions?

I would agree with the control board being bad.

there is no real way of checking the keypad. Not with a meter but if you push normal wash for example and it does not respond this usually means that you have a bad keypad

Yes, if you have no continuity across a thermal cut-off, that means it is blown.

The smart wash light on my kenmore elite model 66513753K602 is flashing. I have tried the suggested button sequences to reset it and they have not worked. How do I troubleshoot it to determine which...

From the tech sheet:

CHECKING KEYPAD
OPERATION
A rapidly blinking LED over
one of the keys of the keypad
(or sometimes a "dead"
keypad/console) indicates one
or more key switch lines are
stuck or shorted on either the
control or the keypad. To
determine if the control or
keypad is faulty, do the
following test:
1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect
power.
2. Open the dishwasher door.
3. Open console and disconnect the
keypad ribbon connection from
the control (at P1). Make sure all
other connections are made.
4. Put console back together. Do not
close the dishwasher door.
5. Plug in dishwasher or reconnect
power.
6. Wait 5 seconds.
7. Close dishwasher door.
8. Monitor the control's response:
? If the control is OK (no longer
sees shorts with the keypad
unplugged), it will respond by
turning on a Drain Motor for
2 minutes. Check and/or
replace the keypad if the
control responds OK.
? If the control is not OK (still
sees shorts with the keypad
unplugged), then the drain
motor will NOT respond and
will remain off. If no response,
replace the control.

Lights on console are off and unit won't start.

Hello Brian,

I had a similar problem with my dishwasher sometime ago. My husband tried to fix it following the owner's manual instructions but nothing happened. Tired of trying it I called a technician and they came the same day and fix it! They had to replace the keypad, I don't remember how much it was but I know that it was a fair price, around $150, much less than buying a new one!

I'll give you their contact info just in case it helps you. Good luck!

Kenmore ultra wash D/W wont start. can cancel things but wont start no heat light and lock on light alternates.

Well, I could be wrong, but is sounds like a bad control module or control console (keypad).

Why are all lights staying on kenmore ultra wash dishwasher 665

I'm not sure if all of your lights are staying on, but if it is several at least and your cycle is done....just push your door closed again and the lights should go out. I find that after my cycle finishes, if I don't completely close the door, most of the lights stay lit. I have to be sure the door snaps in all the way when I close it or the lights stay on.

Why won't my kenmore ultra wash dishwasher drain?

It could be an obstruction in the drain hose (most common), or in the air-break (if you have one), or at the check valve, or something may be blocking or stopping the drain pump impeller. Try this: Close the door and press Cancel. (Or if your dishwasher has the controls that are hidden under your counter ledge when you close the door, then press Cancel first and then close the door. Do you hear anything? Is the drain pump trying to run? If so, then start at your garbage disposal and work backwards. If you got a new garbage disposal installed, make sure that you (or the installer) remembered to knock out the hard-plastic plug at the end of the dishwasher connector port. Also make sure you don't have a clog right there. If that's okay, then check the drain hose (or air-break, if you have one) for clogs. If that's okay, then you will probably want to call a professional because the next steps involve removing and dismantling the drain pump.

Wont do anything, not even drain

Try unplugging the unit for 15 minutes then plug it back in. If that fails it sounds like the inline fuse which means you will have to pull out the dishwasher and look near the pump is blown and fuse needs to be replaed

Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher LIghts are blinking....

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.
