My ref has been making a loud baning noise for quite some time. It happens when it cycles off. I have taken the back off and when i move the compressor a little it makes the banging noise and feels like there is something loose inside the compressor. Is there any way to fix this?

Re: loud banging noise
Some popping noise is normal but if it is banging when it stops it needs a new compressor.what has happened is one or more motor mount is broken or weak it could run like this for months or years but it is annoying! if its warranty they have to replace it.

What is the model # of your machine????
The loud banging noise sounds like the loads were getting unbalanced. This is the most likely since i have no problems with the suspension all of a sudden not stabilizing tub properly. If the washer was moved or transported than that would make more sense to me. please provide as much info as you can. Try doing a load of 10 towels. Let me know how that does and with the model # i can help with pulling some diagnostic codes
Hello, washing machine is mounted on two supports, if it is damaged first which is where the engine so both need to be replaced because they wear out. If you're just a little handy so you know it himself .Ak you order parts so precisely that type because they are different .

Here is a tip that I wrote about dryers and noises...
It will help you determine what is happening there...
Loud banging is usually an unbalanced load. whining noise is some times debris trapped in drain pump causing it to squeal like a fan belt on a car. Strings, threads and hoses tend to get wrapped under agitator and cause noise, too.
Bed sheets or comforters will often get out of balance in the spin cycle or during the rinse cycle. Throw some towels in there next time at least 5 big ones. They are engineered to take a little of this banging, it should only happen once in a while.
