Question about Dorel Alexander
I was given this crib but have no instructions for assembling it..where can I get them?
KensiesMom is right about the recall... they will send you replacement panels wen you contact them...
otherwise... here's the link to their instruction sheet for this model: http://www.dorel-asia.com/DorelAsiaFiles/ProductDocuments/9233_WM1676BCR-DC_WM1676BC%20Sleigh%20Crib.pdf
that should be what you should have gotten with your crib

First off, Don't assemble it just yet! It is involved in a recall right now that involves being sent replacement parts so you will just have to take it apart again. http://www.dorel-asia.com/dorelasiatemplates/files/FINALDorelAsiaPR1-19-10.pdf
As for putting it together, I can guide you through it.
You should have 2 long sides, 2 short sides, 4 corner pieces, a mattress support, 20 longer screws and 4 shorter screws.
first to make life easier line up all the pieces. the longer sides should have the curve going the same way (i.e. low spot lines up with low spot.). the shorter sides should have the curve on top pointing out (one side curves out to the left the other the right). ignore the support piece for now.
take the corner pieces and attach them to the short sides with flat edge down (these are the feet) with 3 long screws on each corner.
next, with the curved edge of the longer sides up, attach them to each shorter sides using 2 long screws in each end (starting with the top screw).
Finally, take the support piece and lay it one the floor in the crib frame with the flat side facing up. go to each corner and pull up the metal piece that attaches the support to the frame. using the short screws attach the support to the brackets on the corner pieces at the desired level and insert mattress.
Remember to check the crib to make sure it is sturdy and secure before letting you baby sleep in it and every once in a while after since screws can wiggle loose. Many an accident could have been prevented if cribs were checked more often!!
Enjoy and congrats on your little one!

You know, the whole point of a safety recall is to SAVE the lives of children! Other babies have died in this crib! I had one and when I filed for the recall, I ended up with a whole new crib. I can't believe that anyone would use it, encourage assembly, or give this crib to others, despite the recall.
