Ps3 problem cant hook up wireless modem to my ps3.error [8001000b] always comes up.

Try resetting your wireless router by unplugging it for 30 seconds. Restart your PS3. After you've logged on, go to the network and setting menu on your PS3. Then try setup like before.

8001000B - it happens when trying to establish wireless connection

1. Locate the PS3 MAC address number: Settings - System Settings - System Information
2. Open the software controlling the rounter. This is usually done my typing the router's IP address on your browser. ie http://192.158.0.1
3. Locate a tab for FILTERS
4. Slelect MAC filters.
5. Enter the PS3 MAC address from previous step as an allowable MAC address.
6. Save entry. At this point rounter will reset itself.
7. Go back and set up the wireless connection on PS3. Select all settings automatic or EASY as the case maybe.

The 8001000B error code happens when trying to establish a wireless connection. Move your wireless router closer to your PS3 so it can get a stronger signal

Try these ...

1. If wireless try a cabled connection.
2. If connection is via a router plug the cable directly into the modem.
Could be a network / router issue
3. Check your connection option on the ps3 dash

i will recommend you to use a wired connection, update the ps3. restart. try wireless now. it may solve problem ! it did in my case

your wireless may be glitched and may need to be replaced or you need to reformat your ps3 which will return it to factory settings

did you hook the ethernet cable from the modem to mthe back of your ps3(wire internet)

do you have a wireless router(wireless internet)

are you trying to hook it up wire or wireless

do you have anything else on your wireless router using the wireless?....Does a laptop with a wireless card hook to your wireless setup and surf the net?...
