Whirlpool washing machine...when you try and use only cold water, it still uses only hot water...it doesn't seem like the washing machine wants to pull cold water, only hot, whether the temperature is on cold or hot. The cold water hose is clear and the cold water is on?

Make sure the hoses are connected correctly to the water valve on the machine. The connections will be marked with an "H" and a "C".
Given they are correct, most current washing machines have and auto temp feature on the water fill. It allows even cold water settings to bring in some hot water to make sure the water temp is hot enough to efficiently disolve your laundry detergant. The preset temps are usually around 75* for cold, and 105* for warm. Hot water comes in at whatever temp your household water temp is.

Re:
It could be the cold side of the water inlet valve not working but also could be the automatic temp control Turn the auto temp control off and try using just cold if that works its the temp control

Make sure both hot and cold water supplies are turned on. Select a cold wash cycle and start the wash cycle, do you get cold water? Now select a hot wash cycle and start the wash cycle, do you get hot water? If you only get cold water replace the hot water fill valve. If you only get hot water replace the cold water fill valve. If you get neither replace both fill valves.
Your machine can be connected for cold fill only but,you will need to connect a "Y-Piece" for it to work: The tail of the "Y" attaches to the cold water valve on your pipework. You then attach both hot and cold water hoses to the branches of the "Y" and connect both hot and cold water hoses to your washing machine. The wash cycles will take longer when connected this way as the machine has to heat the water internally. It will also be less energy effecient.
F-20 error code in Whirlpool Duet Sport washing machine is indication of inadequate water supply. Check both hot and cold water supply lines to make sure machine gets enough water intake. If you do not have a hot water supply to the machine you can only run it with the cold temperature setting. This machine does not have an internal water heater and relies on the hot water supply from the house water heater.
yes it will work but unless you have hot water going into the machine there will never be hot water there but you can just use it with cold water will not hurt anything just no hot water
If it is a hot and cold fill m/c, then you can just use it from cold water.
You would need to fit what is called a Y piece connector , this supplys water to both hot and cold valves regardless of what prog you select..
You connect the cold supply to the straight leg of the connector, and the hot and cold to the other 2 connections.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.
Littleone.. please check your instructions.. some washers now dont need Hot water connection to them...they heat their own as part of the efficiency settings on the wash programmes themselves!
