Before you hook up the line to the fridge, have someone open the valve to verify that water flows to the tube, once verified, hook to the inlet valve and your golden.

Hook up icemaker to water source

If you are doing a new installation, the icemaker should either come with an installation kit or recommend one. The kit comes with all of the hardware needed to basically "tap" into your existing cold water line. Your refrigerator is already prepped for the icemaker so it's just a simple bolt in operation.

I disconnected icemaker to put in new floor, i hooked it back up, now my icemaker wont make ice. its going thru the motions but water isnt coming in.

does this unit have a water filter on it. may want to check filter if so alot of times when you turn water off there will be some sediment /trash come through system and could get lodges in line, filter assembly.. change filter out... you may also have some debri at water valve remove water line from vale and then check connection for any sediment prior to reconnecing turn water on to line holding a glass to catch the water. reconnect adn wait 6- 8 hours to see if ice maker fills with can jump ice maker out by removing front cover and advancing timer.

Just hooked up a new water line for the ice maker how do i know if it is working?

if you take a jumper wire like an extension cord without the female side and hook two connectors on the end it becomes a powered jumper if you take this powered jumper and touch the power to the side of the water valve it will bring water up through the line when it activates the valve the other way of doing this is if your icemaker was the manual kind where u can remove the front cover and i think its the L pin on the icemaker would make the icemaker send the signal to the valve in which water would also travel up the line in this video that is shown this is the type of icemaker with the l pin if you have any further questions please message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation when our chat is concluded Thanks again

I just moved and trying to hook up the icemaker/water dispenser. I see a tubing that goes from the top of the frig to the bottom, but there is no line that comes out to hook into the wall. I do not even...

Yes, it was hooked up at the last location, but I wasn't the one who put installed the frig, and the movers disconnected it, so I don't know how it was done.

What you have in the back is a 1/4 tube which will feed cold water to the icemaker.

go to any hardware store and ask for an icemaker supply line kit. It will consist of a tapping valve, about ten feet of 1/4 inch tubing and a straight connector.

it will also contain step by step instructions.

You will have to determine what cold water line to tap into that is accessable. Perhaps the kitchen sink cold water supply if it is on the same wall as the refrigerator. Many times the line is run up from the basement.

enjoy your new icemaker.

Kenmore fridge icemaker doesn't work after move

Try using an hairdryer or defrosting the unit completely , this often get rid of blockage caused by frozen lines fixing the problem.

The water lines can also be unblocked from dirt using a thin flexible shaft. This after defrosting.

If all that does not fix the problem, then you may need to replace the water valve, the icemaker solenoid, or the whole icemaker assembly.

Ice machine not making ice

Hi, everak11,
Three possible solutions for you.
1: No water coming in from inlet valve. Check voltage on inlet if you have voltage and no water then replace valve.
2:Icemaker not cycleing. Lift the arm on the icemaker to shut it off and leave it for about an hour. Come back in and turn the icemake back on by lowering the arm. If the icemaker does not begin a new cycle and the arm start rising then the problem is most likely an icemaker. Replace Icemaker
3:Refrigerator not cold enough. If the freezer is not getting cold enough the icemaker will not cycle. Check the temperature in the freezer and make sure it is getting down to 0 degrees. If not then you may have another problem with your refrigerator. I hope this helps you, Let me know if you have any other questions or symptoms. Mike

Ice maker not getting water in the line

The only other component stopping the valve from putting water into your icemaker is the icemaker itself. Replace your icemaker and you should solve your problem.
