2) Or take the laptop to the nearest authorized Dell repair shop; your ID, proof of purchase of laptop, and a credit card. Dell representative will ask Dell for a Master Password. Dell rep will then reset to NO password, or one you want. Dell rep KEEPS master password.

Removing CMOS Battery (Real Time Clock Battery. Also called Coin-Cell battery), will NOT work.

I also forgot the password of my Dell a few days ago,but I reset windows password now by a software called Windows Password Reset ,it is easy and effictive to use,and all systems support.

I think it can help you.

Normally, firmware updates are not reversable .... just like is says in most such update routines

are we talking windows password or start up password?

Contact Dell Tech support, confirm you are an authorized user of the system, and they can assist with clearing the password.

Replace the hard disk drive

You will have to reinstall the OS, if you have the disks. Only hacking will help. There is no sane solution to passwords. Either supply the correct one or hack into it and the manage or re-install the OS.

I believe I can help you. Is this a Windows password after it boots up, or is this a bios power on password before it boots? The bios password on a Dell is generally on a white screen when it's first powered. Get back to me, and I'll get you thought this.
