No water is in the tray, red light on the on/off switch is blinking.
Not making ice.
What could be the cause?

The ice maker itself sounds like its not calling for water, you would need to replace ice maker, not field servicable. did you switch the solenoid? or the wire(s) leading to solenoid??? by switch the wire(s) when you depress for water the ice tray will fill with water. reason i say that is possible that the solenoid is energized, perhaps the valve post its sitting on is no good

How old is the ice maker?
If is 10 years old or more you may not be advisable to put good
money into bad! New appliances are so much more efficient today that they
can save you a lot of money in energy!!!!
