Shopvac 2010 I realize this is an older model but it is similar to the model selected. I'm trying to use the wet vacuum option but I no longer have the manual to tell me how to set it up. Any ideas?

Just be sure to remove the paper filter bag that fits over the foam filter before vacuuming liquids. It's easy to get it wet and they don't work very well when that happens.

I have to agree with plantsman on this one. I have a wet dry shop vac as well, and that's all mine requires me to do. Also don't forget to clean out the sponge like filter. (If you have a reusable filter.)

The older model shop vacs were made to just use wet or dry nothing fancy to change just turn it on and do either.

Do you need a special filter for wet application

Yes. The following site shows the filters and which is used for what. Due to potential motor damage, I wouldn't use it without the proper filter.

I have a shopvac model#86776-24. The toggle switch went bad and I'm looking for a replacement switch

I got a replacement switch at a local electronic supply store: Philmore Miniature Rocker Switch part number 30-043. Shop vac changed the switch recently to two push buttons from the old rocker style. This update works a lot better.

Using shop vac 52722-90 for wet applications

yes, the foam filter is what you should use, also make sure you remove any bag, or paper filter, the water would make it fall apart.

Cannot find a filter

In a pinch a discarded flannel pajama sleeve can be employed as a filter on your shop-vac. grab up an end and twist it together and fasten with a piece of wire. the open part slips over the cage of the vacuum and fastens with a large flat rubber band. I'll try to find a source for a filter for you and will get back to you.
