Question about Toshiba Televison & Video

Red power light is blinking. i cant turn on tv.

My Toshiba plasma flat screens red power light is blinking. i cant turn on tv. I have held power button down for 5 seconds and longer and get no response. I have unplugged the set for several minutes and plugged it back in and all i get is a red blinking light. Can anyone help me out? Thank you.

SOURCE: Power blinking green light

Power supply section may be the problem, that will be the first place to look, look for caps with leaking/bulging tops, see examples of failed TV and monitors due to bad caps here;

Panasonic 42 inch plasma wont turn on. red light blinks 10 times

I unpluged mine and the light was still blinking when it was unpluged. I thought that was weird. So I pluged it back in and just heald the power button in untill the light went out. It went out within ten seconds. I pushed the power button again and the tv went on. WOOHOO!!! Just needed reset, I guess.

What is the model of TV?

The Red blinking light is a Protection Error Code. Your Tv needs repair. Most common is the power or Main Unit / Logic Board.

Post your model and how many times the light blinks. Also try unplugging for about 20 min and see if it will turn on.

Some models you get lucky and its a common problum which makes for an easier diagnosis.

HI, I haHe a Fujitsu Plasma HDTV Model PDS4233. The TV won't power ON, When i turn on the master power button the light starts flashing a red light repeatedly. I also observed that the Fans power up for about three seconds immediatly after i press the master power button, after the three seconds the fans shut OFF and the light continues to blink.. I haven't observed the light to see if there is a pattern with the blinking..
