Carrier thermidistat screen went blank

Turned on the air-conditioning; it was working then the screen went blank

Check the battery in the thermostat it is dead!! Should be 2 AA batterys!

Is the display blank on the thermostat because the RUUD stpped working, or the thermostat is not working?

check fuse protecting low voltage transformer.

What must we do to rectify an F8 fault?

I went to the roof and turned the unit off, waited a minute and turned it back on and the unit worked fine after that. It was a power failure that messed ours up.

if it has no batt I would ck transformer for 24to26 volts no voltage replece transformer be sure trans has 115 volts to it trans should be in furnace section

Ok what you need to do is call your local service company and have a technician come out and check your Thermostat, its currently not able to read humidity probably due to a power surge

you need to go oside and look for a red reset button on the unit. you tripped the high ressure switch when you let your filter get that dirty. go check on this and when your done if it still is not working then ask me more.
