But this set is only good on your network unless you have programming to make the set work outside the network, this is done via VLANS which then the phone can be anywhere in the world so long as they have a high speed internet connection.

CHANGE NAME ON PHONE

If you have a Communication Manager, you will need to log into teh "System Manager" software. If this is an IP Office, you will need to log into "Manager". inside those programs, you can change the name.

Red light does not go out

Check that user in Manager under the "Trusted Source" tab. If there is an Hxxx, then that user is getting voicemail for a hunt group as well as the extension.
Also might look like H"hunt group name" as well.

Lately when i call out - the party on the receiving end hears a garbled message..it even happens when I dial an internal extention. I am working remottley in my home office using a Avaya 5610sw IP...

Your internet connection at home or the office needs to be faster.
Talk to your ISP or have the phone admin run some traces to see where the blockage is.

Does anybody know how to flash the firmware of an avaya 5610sw IP from the VPN to the regular in office

1) Edit your existing 46vpnupgrade.scr file as follows. Don't forget the line at the very bottom of this document!

2) Next set your phone's GROUP back to 0 by pressing the MUTE button (just press it don't hold it down) then enter GROUP on the keypad (47687) and press #.

3) Reboot your phone and the non VPN firmware should be re-installed on the phone.

I got error message on 2 Avaya 5610SW IP phone: one is showing: incompatible Disc and another shows:Call Barred Disc. I have no clue to issue. is there anyone can help me out?

Incompatible means that what you dialed is not recognized by the system.

Call barred means your phons is restricted from dialing whatever you are trying to dial (900 numbers etc)

You will have to have the Admin add this feature to your phone. It is a licensed feature and the button can only be put on with the Manager application.

Callserv IP is the IP of teh phone system.
