This kind of symptoms is caused by the following.
1. Faulty thermostat
2. Faulty compressor's OLP (overload protector)
3. Faulty compressor's starting capacitor.
4. Faulty compressor


This is not DIY, I would advice you to ask for an assistance of a technician to isolate the problem.

Sounds like the carbon brushes. If they are sparkng, then either they are bad or the armature is bad, possibly both.

Check and see if there is a blockage.
