It sounds like your batteries are no longer able to hold a charge and are in need of replacement. With all rechargeable shavers, once the batteries are incapable of holding even a minimal charge, the shaver becomes unable to be used, sometimes even wih the power cord plugged into an outlet. My Braun shavers all worked for about a year after it would no longer operate on battery power alone, then the shavers all stopped working regardless of being plugged in directly to an outlet.
As you mentioned you are still under the warranty period, I would suggest you contact the company and request warranty service for your shaver.
if you weren't under warranty, I would advise getting the replacement batteries and doing a repair yourself.
