Nuvi 650 touch screen dead/unresponsive it worked a few weeks ago, been inside the house in the A/C vs. the hot car and now it won't react to touch. Tried the steps from the manual but never get calibration screen and the hard reboot is no good either. Unbeleiveable... looks to be a $100 fix on a $200 unit. ....

The touchscreen & glass needs to be replaced. I've seen and repaired many of these screens even when they show no physical sign of damage. It's due to a bad production run of screens. Please see this link for more info:

OMG! I have been stuggling with this for the last year! Garmin tech support is useless. I have fixed it on my own. It was a as simple as cleaning the screen between the housing of the screen and the screen. I tore the corner from a Christmas card and ran it along the edge of the screen under the housing... several times and POOF! She is working just fine!

My ipod screen is cracked and and a couple weeks ago it got dropped while it was raining now the screen won't react to my touch

Your Ipod needs repairing. Take it to an Apple repairer and get a quote. If the repair is too high then put your money towards a new Ipod.

My Nuvi 650 screen reads "The following map data is more than a year oldand should be updated. When I touch the "OK" on the screen, nothing happens, it seems the screen has become unresponsive.

I would suggest some caution here. I have noticed a trend in anything that can be updated by the consumer---they just blindly do it and I have also seen as the result of this dozens of units crash and burn---if you have not issues and the unit functions why risk losing it?

Turn this unit off and see later if turned on it functions or not, failing that the only way out of the mess would be a call to the maker.

Don't just blindly say ok, kind of like getting a email with a virus and saying OK.

The touch screen of my garmin 650 isnt working

Clean between the screen and the gps housing by running a piece of greeting card material between them. Dirt collects there and makes your unit do strange things... like locking up your screen.

Nuvi 650 touch screen stopped working

My Garmin Nuvi 650 would boot up and load maps, but I could not enter my access code. Screen would not respond. Turned off & on a number of times, but still same problem. This occurred on first use after upgrading the maps. Thinking it may have overheated on the dashboard of my truck, I held the device in front of the air conditioner vent for about five minutes to cool it down. When I then turned it on, it worked fine. For the rest of my 3-week vacation, I kept it cool & out of the sun when it was not turned on. No problems after that.
