LG Top load fuzzy logic washing machine DE problem.

I have a LG Top load fuzzy logic washing machine. Machine takes wash options correctly and takes water but when it just to start the washing it shows DE problem blinking. What I came to know from the manual it means the door/lid is open. However the lid is closed. What should i do to rectify it. Is it just a door problem or a circuit probelm. Any one can pls help me out.

Hi, there is a small magnet in the door. please check if the door seems broken, it is a very small break so check properly, if there is no magnet, it will continue to show de though the door is closed. if the magnet is lost, replace it and put super so it does not come out again. don't closed door while super glue is still not dry.

Thank you too! it's friday night so I can't go out and buy a magnet clip thingy but I can sit on the lid and get my work clothes ready for tomorrow. :)

Hi there, i've got the exactly same problem but i've checked the magnet. it's still there, no brokens. i took the magnet out, tested it on a metal object and it's still sticking. i've even checked the surroundings of the door to make sure that nothing is blocking, stuck or attached. what could be the other cause and solutions for this problem. Thank you in advance

Hi. I am facing the same issues. Bypass the magnet. Unscrew the panel board from the front face and you can see an small fuse at the opposite of the magnet located at the lid. Loop it end to end. ATTN, IF YOU DO SO, THE MACHINE WON'T TURN OFF EVEN IF THE LID IS OPEN.

I managed to fix mine. I removed the magnet from its housing. And removed the plastic cover with the buttons it. I placed the magnet on the sensor resting it there and it works now.

If the magnet is in place and the problem persists then the reed switch needs to be replaced.
