Why does the surface burners and broiler light but not the oven burner on my Kenmore gas range? Kenmore gas range around 14 years old the model number is 362.7352192. We were using the oven and in the middle of cooking the oven burner stop working. I checked the surface burners and they all light up. I then set the oven to the broiler setting and the broiler lights up. The control knob has a setting for Bake, Broil, Timed Bake and Cleaning. This happens in the bake position and the red light that indicates when the oven reaches the set temp comes on like normal.

KENMORE GAS STOVE OVEN LOWER BURNER WON'T WORK

Most likely a hot-surface ignitor has failed. If it doesn't consume enough current, the gas valve won't open. It's usually a fairly easy fix, once you gain access to the ignitor and have a new one to replace it with. Make sure you unplug the range...

Kenmore oven wont light

I am not sure what model or make you have to be precise but replacing the oven ignitor is relatively simple. Gain access to the bake burner area. There are two mounting screws which secure the old ignitor to the bake burner. Remove these screws and then follow the wires to their respective connections. Make the connection change and mount your new ignitor. If I can help further, I am here...

Bottom oven burner will not light

If your Kenmore is like most Whirlpool-built gas ranges, surface ignitors similar to those used in gas dryers are used. These devices have a conductive path fused to a ceramic substrate and are common failures. There are separate units for bake and broil burners.
Check the Sears website under the 'Parts' subsection and enter your range model number. This should bring up a choice of things to do and if you ask for the illustrated parts breakdown, you can see where the ignitor is located, get its part number, and generally order from that same site.
It's mildly disturbing that the range continues to allow gas to flow unignited.

Frigidaire gas range oven won't come on

the oven ignitor needs replacing, this is the part that makes everything works, it's a glow coil in side the oven, nest to the burner, that is the electronic pilot, when it goes bad the safety valve, the one that sends gas to the oven will not open to light the oven burner.

Burners don't receive gas though oven/broiler does

tommi, this model has a cooktop lock-out solenoid feature. Try pressing and holding the top light keypad for 5 seconds and see if the top comes back to life. If not, check your owners manual, it may be a different key. The lock-out solenoid is in the back behind the outer panel. The cooktop lockout valve has been redesigned from a AC to DC voltage because of complaints of chattering. The new part number is 8184768. Lets hope you don't need it and just have the top locked out.
