Hello, Currently I have Vaio laptop connected to my Vizio 42" inch flat screen TV. There's no audio coming from my Vizio TV. So I connected an audio cable connected to the stereo jack. Where do I connect the RED and White cable ? Please advise. Monica

Sounds like the back light is going out or a connection to the back light has loosened of the years

I don't know if your refresh rate on your TV is adjustable or the signal being fed is inadequate. What connection are you using with the TV? If it's HDMI, make sure the cables are HDCP-certified. Otherwise this will always happen. If it is simply your TV, are environmental variables (dust, cold, heat, etc.) causing the TV to malfunction? Give it room to breathe and avoid cases without holes for the TV to breathe. TVs don't operate properly when they are stressed out.

it was an inverter board and screen back light issue. you must check loose connector like dry joint .

To get your display from your computer to your tv you have to press Function F8 on your laptop.

The main board of your TV is bad. I have seen a lot of TVs have the same problem.

If you are using a set top box this might be caused by turnig the box on at the same tie as you turn the tv on or slightly after you turn the tv on.  If you are using compnent or HDMI inputs the set needs to see the signal as it is turned on to know what formt the signal is in.
