Recover lost calendar events on a Palm z22

Is there are way to "undo" a hotsync or restore calendar events on a Palm z22 after it was hotsynced with a computer that had lost all the calendar events.

JOY's answer, that you try to do a SYSTEM RESTORE on your Computer to get the data back is a really good one, that I did not think of! All manual instructions, and USER instructions on doing a SYNC with the Palm Z22, REPEAT : 1/ Always have a back up of the hard data 2/ Always check all transferred DATA on a SYNC, "Even if it states 'transfer Successful'", 3/ Even, if necessary, write down the data, ...
There are a few software programs to identify FILE problems on the Z22, listed on my web page:

and ways to recover corrupt data, but these are getting more and more difficult to find and use...

User comments on the SYNC indicate that any SYNC is a risky procedure, and backups and re-checking all data is necessary at all times.

Once you lose the data on the Pal it is gone. What you might be able to do is to do a system restore on your PC to an earlier date to see if it will restore all your calendar data. If it does them do a hot sync again. Best wishes.

My Palm z22 syncs. Trying to get calendar into the handheld. After it syncs there is no info still- says no appointments today but I put a bunch.

make sure that the updates for the calendar or apointments are set the right way. You may find that it is set to let the palm overwrite the desktop and it should be the other way or to syncronyze both so they show the same thing. If the program doesn;t show this setting check on the hotsync icon (right click on it whe its running) and check the settings.

My Z22 won't HotSync

Forgot password can't hotsync z22

Hi,
The first thing I would do would be to do a hard reset and then you should be able to hotsync it. I am sending you a link to the palm support for your z22. At the bottom of the page is a link for free chat. I have used this myself and I was able to get my problem solved in a few short minutes. Hope this helps. Gotta love that palm.

There is no recovering Passwors with Palm, as far as I know.

Do a hotsync on your computer, and hold the power button while you poke a toothpick into the reset hole on the back.

The Palm will reset to default settings.
A hotsync from the computer will restore your saved data.

I updated the Palm m130 to Z22. I lost all my addresses on the m130 whe installing the Z22. Is there anyway to retrieve the lost file?!

The solution to this problem is.. if the m130 still has all the data, then

you need to perform a custom hotsync to overwrite all files on the computer

Click on the ‘Hotsync Manager’ icon and choose ‘Custom’.
Highlight the ‘Datebook’ conduit and click ‘Change’.
Select ‘Handheld overwrites desktop’ and click ‘OK’.
Repeat these steps for the ‘Address’, ‘Todo’, ‘Memo’ and ‘System’ conduits.
‘Install’ and ‘Install Service Templates’ should be ‘Enabled’.
Perform a ‘Hotsync’ operation by pressing the button on the Hotsync® Cradle, or Cable.

Now that the files are on your computer you need to sync them into the new palm

Same steps but this time Desktop Overwrites handheld

Click on the ‘Hotsync Manager’ icon and choose ‘Custom’.
Highlight the ‘Datebook’ conduit and click ‘Change’.
Select ‘Desktop overwrites Handheld’ and click ‘OK’.
Repeat these steps for the ‘Address’, ‘Todo’, ‘Memo’ and ‘System’ conduits.

Lost calendar on hotsync

The information is unfortunately lost.

Unless you synced the palm on another computer, the palm only can back up the information when synced.

So if you sync it and the computer overwrites the handheld, the information never made it to the computer and thus cannot be restored.

The only thing you could check would be the backup folder in the palm directory under your profile name. Palm puts all of the .prc/.pdb files in there when you sync.
