Try a different keyboard on your computer.
If that works, try your keyboard on a different computer.
If it fails, then replace the keyboard.
Things to try:
(FOR PS2 WIRED KEYBOARD) 1. Make sure the keyboard is plugged in keyboard port not the mouse port if it is a ps2 keyboard(the plug will be round not square)
(FOR PS2 WIRED KEYBOARD) 2. Power down the computer unplug power to it. Press the power button on the computer while it is unplugged. Wait 5 mins and plug it back in and power it back on.
(FOR PS2 WIRED KEYBOARD) 3. Test the keyboard on another computer and see if it is good. if it is good then the port on the computer may be bad. If the computer has a ps2 keyboard try a USB keyboard on the computer. (make sure to give it 5 mins or so to detect the new keyboard)
(for WIRELESS KEYBOARDS) check the batteries and or replace them.
(for WIRELESS KEYBOARDS) press the sync button on the wireless base and then press the sync button on the keyboard (its usually on the bottom) see what happens. If that does not work press both sync buttons at the same time.
