Question about Hitachi UltraVision CineForm 55VG825 55" HDTV

TV Exploded TV made a loud popping noise and went blank. Red lights under the power buttun (temp & lamp) are flashing. I unplugged it and let it sit over night. The TV will not come back on. No sound either.Lights are still flashing. This is a 50" Hitachi Ultravision that is less than two years old.

Sounds like the DLP lamp failed. You can decipher the Hitachi flashing red light. That should help to be sure.
The DLP lamp replacement is fairly straightforward and can be done with minimal tools

Hi,
It seems lamp/ bulb popped again, check lamp inside tv.
If tv does not show red blinking light then it would be lamp that knocked off, replace lamp in tv to fix its problem, please buy Sony original lamp for good picture in tv.

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? if you heart clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the ballast that's the board that powers the lamp.Do you hear buzzing,whirling,or high pitch sounds?If you do it could be the color wheel which is a little disc looking that when the light of the lamp goes through it creates the colors on the tv.This are the most common failures on samsungs.

Check your color wheel. There is a DIY guide for replacing the color wheel. Mine did the same thing yours is and my color wheel was all busted up. Unfortunately after replacing the color wheel my set continues to do the same thing, but this could mean I need to replace the ballast as well.
