SOURCE: Why won't the driver retract on my pneumatic

Can't be more specific without model number.
Driver not returning to top of cylinder is caused by several issues. Bent driver, piston oring, and check valve. Remove head and pull out driver. The blade should be straight with no missing pieces. Driver piston should fit snugly into cylinder and not drop down cylinder under its own weight. If driver / piston look ok, pull out cylinder and look for check seal in place. It looks like rubber band or one or more orings and fit in groove/s with row of holes (make sure holes are clean). Other problems related to driver not returning is/are lower bumper is missing pieces or cracked and or air exhaust port is restricted, low air pressure. SOURCE: I need O rings and lower bumper for Rainco R1B 7c 16 uphostery stapler

"O" rings are sold by diameter, thickness and type of material, any auto parts store can likely match up what you have. I would use a material called "Viton" not just rubber, holds up better to chemicals

I have a ns100a porter cable narrow crown stapler. The driver will not retract, so it will not shoot staples. what can be the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks Pam

Usually when the driver is slightly bent, it will not retract. Easy to check. Remove the head and pull out the cylinder and driver together. Adjust the driver or replace as needed.

Staple jams by driver blade in gun and I have to dismantle nose to get it out. Empire Rainco 7-16.

The problem is wear on the sides of the driver blade. With the constant up/down movement of the driver against either side of the nose plate, it eventually narrows enough to allow part of the fine wire 71 series staple to find it's way between the driver blade and the inside wall of the nose plate. A new driver blade cures this completely. Rainco tackers have become a bit rare but the good news is, they're actually manufactured by Fasco and the Fasco driver fits into the Rainco piston by the removal of a single pin to allow the old blade out, replace with the new Fasco blade, re-insert the pin into the piston, then re-assemble the gun and you're away.

Need spring on a rainco staple gun

Rainco are a variant of the Fasco range. There will be a Fasco tool identical to your Rainco so take it to a Fasco stockist and yo'll sort it.

Driver pin on model FN250A not retracting far enough to drive next nail. Will shoot 2 or 3 nails and miss 6 or so.

I had the same problem with an electric stapler from Craftsman after years of disuse. The solenoid that powers the hammer that is no retracting may require lubing if this is possible.

If not, then if the product is within warranty, you might be able to get a replacement.
