Whirlpool washer/dryer Awg338 trips the mains?

My machine works fine on a normal wash cycle, but as soon as I depress the 1/2 Load / Dry button, the machine trips the main board fuse for that circuit?
I have looked everywhere for a solution but can find no other refernece to this problem.
Any help would be great thanks.

I appreciate your help, but think it could now be a thermal fuse, which I am present trying to source.

if not I am going to get a new one in 2008.

Merry Xmas & Happy new year by the way.

Whirlpool AWZ410 Washer/Dryer Washes But Will Not Dry!

I have the same problem. The half load / drying button is pushed in; the drying time set; I've reduced the load to almost nothing, but it won't dry. I've tried numerous cycles. The clothes spin, but are still damp at the end.

How would I go about checking my lid switch or fixing my clutch, if that's the problem?

Water not filling on washer

the inlet filter is probably clogged restricted and/or inhibited flow of water into your machine.
These things happen, and cleaning out the filter is a good first step to finding the problem.

Wash machine sometimes gets stuck on rinse cycle & dryer not dry

Sounds like the drain hose for the washer is too far down in the stand pipe at the wall causing a siphon effect, try raising drain hose a little. The dryer sounds like the vent line from back of dryer too wall is pinched causing an air flow obstruction. Hope this helps.

Zanussi ZWD1680W Front Load All-in-One... Problem:

With the symptoms you describe i would suspect a intermittent heater element fault as you are getting earth leakage current which is tripping the whole supply rather than a current overload which would just trip the socket circuit breaker. Get the heating element checked over first as this is the most likely cause.

Why wont my machine start drying?

I called Whirlpool on 08706008989. The machine can only dry half a load of washing at a time. At the end of the washing cycle, the Programme dial should be at either the sun or half sun symbol. Remove half the washing, set the drying time via the drying time dial and press the 1/2 Load Dryer button - Voila dry clothes!
