I have a thin vertical green line that appears on my 9 month old 23'' Apple Display, the line goes away, but has reappeared a couple times. Is there anything I can do, without sending it out? or is this the beginning of the end?

There are loosed contacts between scaler board and flexi-cables, at least those where you have color lines. These cables are glued with anisotropic compound and not such easy to fix, to make it right you shall heat junctions to certain temperature and press the cable down to surface with certain pressure, which is specified for compound used in there - consider as unknown.
The easiest way to get rid of these lines is to press flexi-cables with something like piece of foam rubber.
Disconnect all cables coming from the display to boards, take the chassis off, uscrew metal cover from back side of display to get access to the scaler. Now, if you can, connect display back to boards (you may need to take boards off the chassis) and turn on the monitor. This will help you to find exactly loosed spot. Gently pressing to junctions of flexi-cable to scaler PCB with finger observe the behavior of color lines on the display. Then put there thin piece of foam and fix with metal cover. That will work for awhile.

A thin vertical line appears on the page as it is printed. what should i do?

9 times out of 10 any kind of dark or blank line on these HP's is caused by the toner cartridge. Hopefully you have a spare you can swap it out. Even an old one will do as a test to see if the line goes away. The only other possiblity would be fuser film problem, but my money is on the toner cartridge.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

I have a Samsung T220HD Tv/Monitor, and ive had it for about 3 months now. Recently a thin vertical blue line has appeared through the screen, although if i move the screen itself the blue line goes away...

hi this might help you:

*search the invoice and contact your dealer/ place where you've bought it.
this may indicate a fabrical fault, i mean that electronically there's something wrong that either the screen isn't able to show the right pixels once in a while so to say, or that whatever creates the order to form the colors is damaged....

The screen will propably have to be replaced.

if this doesn't solve it i really wouldn't know what to do.
i've been selling tv's for 6 months and have seen customers with these problems.

greets and succes

42HDS69 42 in. Plasma has several thin green vertical lines in middle of screen

If the set is still in warranty, call for warranty service. If not and you feel comfortable working on the set, carefully open up the back and reseat all of hte cables and connectors. This can be caused by marginal connections inside the set.

Keep us posted on your progress and results.

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-32v2500, 16 months old, a thin vertical green line has appeared just off centre. It is on all channels and all input sources. Any suggestions?

If it still under warranty, no cost will be there, but if its out of warranty, you have to pay to Sony (might be they give you some discount) because its problem in LCD Panel.

LG Plasma TV MOdel 50PC5DC

You will definately want to call LG and have them refer you to an auth. service center for warranty repair. This is either a failed scan bd or mayber even a bad plasma panel and there is nothing simple for a problem as you describe.
