Do you have a write protect switch on the pen? If so switch it to the open position.

Is your flashdrive 'write-protected' or 'read only ?

If you don't mind losing the data, then just format the flash drive, and make sure it is not 'write-protected' or 'read only'. Then try it.

I NEED TO TRANSFER THINGS FROM ONE COMPUTER TO A NEW COMPUTER I DON'T WANT TO MOVE EVERYTHING JUST CERTAIN THINGS LIKE MY PICTURES AND DIFFERENT DOCUMENTS THAT I DO NOT WANT TO LOOSE

Hi sks846
Create a new folder in the old computer , rename it ( " old computer documents " or whatever you wish ) and copy your selected files to it . Copy the completed folder to your flash drive . Disconnect the flashdrive and connect it to the new computer . Copy the content to the new computer . Copy of your documents are now saved on both the flash drive and the new computer . You are now 100 % safe . If necessary , the originals can be found back on the old computer .
Best regards ,

How do I put pictures from my home computer onto the SanDisk?

Once you plug the sandisk into your computer, a window should pop up asking you if you want to view the files on the disk, if it does, click on it. If not, just go to Start Menu -> My Computer -> (The Flash Drive). Move this window to the side so you can see the desktop aswell as the flashdrive folder. (You have have to 'demaximize' (Restore Down) the window so that you can see the desktop aswell. Then go to the start menu again and go to "My Pictures" or wherever your pictures are located. then, you can click and drag the pictures from the "My Pictures" folder into the FlashDrive's folder. Once all the images are copied into the flashdrive folder, you can unplug the flash drive and the images will be on it.
Hope this helped, Nathan Taylor

How to get the pc games to the removable disc(J) sandisk. Can not Move them to Flashdrive disc.

Hello,

It is not completely clear if you mean large PC games or if you mean small PC games.

By small PC games I mean games similar to the games that come with Windows and that appear in the 'All Programs -> Games' folder. Such as 'Free Cell', 'Hearts' or 'Solitaire'.

By large games I mean games like 'World of Warcraft' or 'Mortal Combat'.

Also, do you want to install the games on your Flashdrive or store them there?

If you want to store a large game on your flash drive. Place the CD/DVD with the game on it in your CD/DVD drive and insert your Flashdrive in a USB port.

Open 'WIndows Explorer' or 'My Computer'. Locate the CD/DVD drive that you inserted the game disk in (most likely your D: drive).

In the 'Edit' menu select 'Select All' and then in the 'Edit' menu select 'Copy'.

Then locate the Flashdrive in 'WIndows Explorer' or 'My Computer'. And in the 'Edit' menu select 'Paste'.

While this will copy the files from your game's CD/DVD disk to your Flashdrive you may or may not be able to install the game from your Flashdrive.

You can use this same procedure to copy small games to your Flashdrive from your Hard Drive.
You will need to know where on your hard drive they are located. And they may or may not run from your Flashdrive.

Also you may be able to install and run games from your Flashdrive, When you run the Setup program from you game disk you will usually be given the option to select a alternative location to install the game.
Select your Flashdrive at that point and it may install correctly to your Flashdrive. If it does you should be careful to always use the same USB port or the game won't run.

Hope that helps.

How to repair missing wininet.dll?

If you see an error related to the wininet.dll file being deleted or missing, copy this file from the c:\windows\system32 directory of a working Win XP Pro
or Win Vista computer onto a flashdrive, then use the following procedure to copy it onto the failing system.

  1. At the boot screen (the first thing to appear at power-up), hit the F8 function key.
  2. Select 'Safe Mode with Command Prompt' and continue.
  3. In the command prompt window, type the letter of your flash drive, either d: or e: until the drive appears as e:> in the prompt window.
  4. Type 'dir' to see the wininet.dll file on that flashdrive.
  5. Once you see that file, type 'copy wininet.dll c:\windows\system32'.
  6. Unplug the flashdrive and reboot the failing PC.
Once you succeed in reviving the failed computer, go to c:\windows\system32 and right click on the wininet.dll file then copy and paste it to a save name (recommended name: wininet-copy.dll). This allows direct copy of that file back into wininet.dll if the problem reoccurs.

If you suspect an anitvirus engine or some other application deleted this file - and if it occurs again, make note of what was being performed, immediately before the failure mode. This will lead you to the offending program needing attention.

Good luck, hope this helps.

I put the flashdrive into the port but I do not understand how to get the work onto the drive? It said that I connected it right but it did not show me how to copy or download work onto the flashdrive.

A flashdrive shows up in Windows as a new drive letter un Windows Explorer.
If you right click on My Computer (XP), Computer (Windows 7) you can select explore or open.
The dialog box that opens is split in half. the left side shows the "drives" and corresponding letters. Typically, you will have a Local C:\ for your Primary hard drive, CD Drive D:\ for a CD/DVD and the flash drive will show as Removable Drive E:.
To copy work to the new flash drive, you can select save as from your program and select the drive letter that you saw the removable drive named in Windows explorer.

You can also, from the folder named My Documents, copy the file by right clicking on it, then selecting the flash drive letter and pasting into the empty window associated with it on the right side of the divided Windows Explorer screen.

Can't Copy Files onto USB Drive

I think you have to copy the pictures to your flashdrive and not copy and paste. this is how to do it: highlight the pictures you want to copy to your flashdrive and check on the left side of windows explorer, you will see some commands available like (delete, copy , move etc) select the copy command and a small windows will appear for you to choose the location to copy, select the flashdrive and then click on copy.
this will copy the selected pictures with ease.
