Assuming that this is a Kenmore / Whirlpool top loader with a direct drive system, the first thing to check is the motor coupling.

The transmission and motor have plastic parts that connect through a rubber coupling.

the drum is not spinning. I hear a noise like when - pd_0026_110_285753a?$pddetailsth$ #13 on diagram Coupling, motor and isolation Number:661560Substitution:285753A $18.50 If the coupler rubber piece wears out, the pins on the motor and transmission sides will rub together making the sound.

If the coupler looks good the problem is likely in the transmission.

Duet washer making a loud noise on spin cycle, it squeaks on low spin and then when it gets up to high speed, it is really loud. What could this be?

In most cases it is something that is sticking between the drum and the housing. Check inside the boot by the door. If that is not helpful move the drum by hand and listen to see if you can locate the area of the noise.

My jeep makes a sound from the rear for example today backed out of a parking spot and a loud clicking kinda like if u put a baseball card in the spoke of a bike only louder

Check the back brakes . I believe you have drum brakes in the back. The brake hardware. ie..Springs, clips.. come apart sometimes. And this will cause the clicking noise you hear

My maytag model no.mav4755aww makes a whinning sound at the beginning of the spin cycle

Hi
Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.Since you hear whining it means that the bearing is damaged and the seals on bearing are gone too so it rotates without lubricant. It might be possible to hear whining while you rotate empty drum manually...
Turn the drum by hand and listen for loud noises. If the drum itself is split or the 'spider' is corroded, broken or has come apart from the back of the drum it will create a loud noise on every turn of the drum. When the bearings have gone bad, the noise is constant the entire time the drum is spinning.
Take the belt off and run the motor alone if you hear a high pitched squealing noise to check for motor bearing damage or wear. If you still hear the noise without the belt, it's the motor bearing. Then replacing the bearing is suggested.
Let us know if you want something more else accept the solution.

Drum not turning, hear humming noise

the humming noise is from the motor, see if you can spin the drum by hand,if it moves you have a bad motor,if it's hard to turn you could have something stuck in the blower wheel or the belt is jammed somewhere, the blower wheel is behind the duct that the lint filter slides into

Kenmore model 80 washer will agitate but drum will not spin

Your basket drive/ clutch or the drive block may be bad . Can you hear the motor running during spin? Can you turn the drum by hand when it is stopped? I would also look for something stuck between the basket and the outer tub a sock or???? Stick a screwdriver in the lid switch slot so you can see what is going on with the lid open and see if basket will spin with a little help. Does it make any unusual noises?

I have a lg washer Model# wm0642h and yesterday my wife was washing clothes and during the last spin cycle it started making a loud clicking noise kind of like when you put a baseball card in the spokes of...

Sound like something has gone in between the drum and the outertank, usually a bra wire.. unless you can see it poking through a hole in the drum the only other access points for retrieval are through the sump hose at base , or the removal of heating element.. other than that it becomes a strip down job... but usually the 2 access points are sufficient..

How do I true a rimm

Take your tire and tube off remove the rubber gasket that goes around the rim on inside. Your spokes should have a square connector at the ends tighten and loosen individual spokes on opposite sides the way your rim is bent, it takes a lot of time. Then your spokes will be sticking up into the rim grind those down so the don't poke through your gasket. Do this on the the bike frame so you can spin the rim. you can get a spoke tightener at your hardware store. This is a pain in the **** i take mine to a bike shop to have it done!

Very noisy on spin

hello there.....the noise you hear is most likley due to failed drum bearings or something trapped in the drum....test as follows....isolate machine....open the door...test the drum for up and down lift...there should be no movement at all....if all is well here...remove the lid and remove drive belt....spin the drum by hand and listen for any bearing noise (rumble). or metallic sound of something trapped in drum..if all is well here refit the lid temp...Then select spin and start machine...if motor is noisy then the problem is with the motor bearings

Washer makes loud knocking noise

I think that the drum bearings have gone on the machine..

To open the door and spin the empty drum quickly by hand and you should hear the noise or say a less amplifed one.. You can also move the inner drum up and down to see if there is something wrong with it..
