HP DeskJet 820CSE Won't Print

I just put in new color and black cartridges, went to test them, and then the problems started. It will take in the paper half-way, as if it is going to print, and then it stops. The topmost light next to the ink blot logo is flashing too. Whats going on?

Hp 4480 how do you unpause it

The HP F4480 likely has a malfunctioning ink cartridge which is causing the printer hang (i.e. internal micro-electronics damage inside the HP 60 color or black ink cartridge). You can verify the electrical condition of both HP 60 ink cartridges by activating the Tap 41 diagnostic test report (see video here for complete instructions):

http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=440 (HP 60 - Deskjet F2400/F4400/F4500 models)
1.While holding the Power button, press Cancel (X) button 4 times, then press the Color Copy button once.
    2.Release the Power button.
3.The 'Tap 41' diagnostic test print should print.

Providing the color cartridge is partially functioning the Tap 41 diagnostic test print will be printed (this is a forced service print test which is mainly used for the evaluation of ink cartridge electrical health). A good HP 60/60XL color cartridge should display 1248 good nozzles, while a good HP 60/60XL black ink cartridge should show 336 good nozzles. If the results yield anything different then the ink cartridge is likely damaged and will need to be replaced. Refer to 2nd video on how to read the printout.
    http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=440 (HP 60 - Deskjet F2400/F4400/F4500 models)
    http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=444 (HP 60 - Deskjet F4200 model)

If the printer attempts to print the diagnostic test pattern (1 page) then the printer is generally considered operational and functional, if nothing is printed, but the printer attempts to print the pattern, then the tri-color ink cartridge is either empty, clogged or severely electrically damaged (black ink cartridge is not used). You can remove the tri-color cartridge, reactivate the tap 41 test and the printer will print the diagnostic test print in black ink.

All of a sudden, my hp 3320 printer will not print black. I changed the printer to test that and the other one won't print anything. I put in a new black cartridge, nothing. The color works. I uninstalled...

Good day!maybe a problem with the carrier of your cartridges..it cannot print black anymore..maybe there are inks that blocked the cartridge from flowing inside the carrier which called printer head..i think you may replace a printer head if any testing is not effective.

Hp 5550 deskjet not printing

This is typical cartridge problem.Which cartridge changed? This printer can print with the only one cartridge inside it, whatever which.Try this: Open cover put out color cartridge then close cover. If blinking stops replace color cartridge. If blinking continues put out black cartridge and put in color. If blinking stops replace black cartridge, if not stop replace both cartridges.
If this not help your printer has problem in carriage unit and need repair.

I just put in a brand new black ink cartridge, but the black ink will not print. It acts like it is, but nothing comes out.??? The color ink works fine.

Please follow the instructions given below ton print a test page and check if black color prints. If not then clean and reseat the black cartridge. If issue persists then contact HP Support to replace problem cartridge if it is in warranty and not a refilled cartridge.
  1. Press and hold the Power button, and then open and close the top cover four times.
  2. Release the Power button.

You are using HP's cartridge with the smallest output . So if you are printing 80 pages of text, you will have a problem by the time you reach 95 or 100 pages. If you are printing in color, you only have 1ml/color. Meaning 3 colors. But in order to print a red, it will combine a magenta and yellow to product 1 color. So 3 colors doesn't mean 3 ml worth of colors. Effectively you may only be able to print 10-20 pages of color then your cartridge is empty. The black cartridge has about 4-5ml of ink. So if you print a lot I suggest you get another printer.

Printer problem

Hi, after you install a new ink cartridge you need to run the printer software to add the new ink levels. Have you done this?
