I just got text on my lg shine and it will not receive or send any text message..Why Not?

Check two things: Call 611 for AT&T and make sure your text plan is active and ready. Second, make sure you are texting from an area with good coverage. Without data coverage you can make calls but not send/receive data.

you need to check the msg center number on your phone.

So call you provider and have them give you the msg number

Hello

Your phone is probably on silent or you havent selected a tone for your text messages. Go to your tones,select a particular ringtone you want to use for your text mesages select "options" and select ''set as message alert tone" and select ok.

I'm not receiving all my text messages, mostly from one person. I start getting them randomly again a week later.

check the setting on the message or if you want. go to setting, then restore factory setting.

I cannot send/recieve text messages with my LG shine

hi there,
call the customer service of your service provider ( AT&T,Vodafone,Verizon etc)....they will set up message center number on your phone , the one that you have might be incorrect...your mobile operator will send you sim updates that will refresh the settings ....and then you will get the text message options

how about setting the message sevice center number (a number formed of 10 to 18 digits)in your messages menu, somewhere at the message settings...and then I guess there'll be no problem.
