I can't find the battery for the Bushnell Voyager finderscope

We got the telescope as a 30 yr gift from our employer. But it came without a manual. I just downloaded the manaul off the Bushnell site, but it says nothing about what kind of battery it takes. I don't think we have a battery there; at least I don't see it...nor do I see any kind of plastic tab. Can someone tell us where to find it and where it goes and what it is?

thanks

I need to replace the Red Dot Finderscope for my Voyager 78-9470 telescope. Where do I find one?

Many on-line retailers sell finderscopes-- here is one--

Replacing battery for red dot finderscope on Bushnell NorthStar 78-8846

It's usually a small watch style battery. Look around for a small compartment on the finder that holds the little battery.

The finderscope for the Bushnel 78-9930 telescope will not align w/ the telescope. The Azimuth adjustment knob bottoms out before the alignment is achieved. Everything is molded one piece. Besides the...

Obviously the mounting for the finderscope is NOT parallel with the tube-- probably the screw holes were not drilled correctly.

This is one of the reasons why we never recommend Tasco or Bushnell telescopes. They are considered "toy" telescopes and most of them are not suitable for Astronomy.

Return it and buy one of these:

OR re-drill the holes so the finder scope is more parallel with the main tube.

The Red Dot finde scope on my 78-8831 doesn't look like depicted in the user manual for this telescope. It looks like on the picture for 78-8840. Oh, by the way, the user manual is just about the worst...

Bushnell is NOT known for their quality telescopes. Sorry.

The red dot finder must be aligned with the main tube, you can do this during the daytime.

Focus on a distant object using the telescope like the top of a telephone pole. Without moving the telescope, adjust the red dot so it falls on the exact same object.

Red Dot Finderscope doesn't do anything when turned on

Sometimes there can be a plastc tab to take out so as the battery isn't drained while it's in the factory, store etc. just pop the battery out and check.

I really do not know how to use it. It's rather awkward to look through the lens. What does the red dot finderscope really do?

1. Please read menual proper. You can see live demo through company website also.
2. Start with lower resolution eyepiece. For thet you see the meximum number on eyepice.Than you start first to see moon.Because mon is a brightest obect of the sky 7 easy to find.than you go planet etc.
3.Finderscope is a taegt shooter. Please switch of finderscope. You can see two red dot in the finderscope. Than you aline the object ine sky with two red dot. Move the telescope up to in line(Obeject which you want to see and two red dot).
Now you can see in the eyepice to megnifing image of object.
