Well it might be waterproof, but it may not include saltwater proof. I think that is the case. If so, then the salt got into your camera and caused something to not work. I would take it in Olympus and let them look at it. It could just be a bad camera.

My guess the lcd screen was faulty or the water leaked in there and shortcircit it.

My Olympus 1050 SW looks like it might have a little water inside the camera. The lens is foggy. I didn't take it very deep the last time I was in the water with it, but I did store it in a cooler and...

You can TRY and dry out the camera, but I can pretty much guarantee you that there is corrosion inside and it will eventually fail if it hasn't done so already. The Olympus Stylus Tough cameras are not very tough or waterproof unfortunately. I have seen dozens of them with smashed LCD windows or that have leaked water.

Don't buy a waterproof camera, cause they aren't waterproof. Buy an underwater case and put your camera in that.

To try and dry out the camera, some people suggest putting it in a ziplock back with rice to pull out the moisture, it's not a bad thing to try. The fog in the lens MIGHT go away, but it will most likely leave spots or a big ring which will show up on all your pictures.

Your camera is most likely a goner, sorry to say.

Waterproof camera seems to not be working since the pool.

The camera is supposed to be waterproof to 10 feet for about an hour if the camera has never been subjected to any bumps or rough treatment. Can you say you followed those guidelines?

I have an Olympus Stylus 850 SW. It takes

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

My Olympus Digital Camera Stylus 850 SW is supposedly waterproof, and shockproof, but when i went on vacation, and took it into the water park, and inside the water. It broke. Water got into it even though...

Is it under warranty?

I would be trying to make a claim against it for NOT being waterproof. If they don't come to the party and replace it you could threaten to sue for false advertising, Contact Olympus I am sure they woulde want to investigate it
