Yes. You will have to reset the lamp hours. It should be in your owners manual.
Copy and paste this link in your address bar if you don't have the manual:

I have heard that this may work on your tv

1. Switch power ON, and press the TIMER button on the remote control transmitter, or the RESET button on the control panel, for approximately three seconds. The 'LAMP xxxx hr' message will appear on the lamp timer on the bottom of the screen.
2. Press the MENU button on the remote control transmitter, or the RESET button on the control panel, while the lamp timer is displayed. The 'LAMP xxxx [] -> 0 [|] CANCEL' message will then appear.
3. Press the [<|] and select 0, and wait until the timer display is cleared.

I just replaced the lamp in my Hitachi 50vf820 tv and it comes on for a second then cuts out and blinks red temp light.

Make sure all the fans are working correctly. If the problem persists then it might be the ballast, the power supply or a bad temp sensor.

it may be something with the new lamp or the projector overall. try to turn it off, disconnect the power cord, press the power button for about 10 seconds, remove the lamp and reconnect it making sure it is properly installed. then place the cover securely and try to test it again. you may also need to reset the lamp time for it, refer to the manual of your device for the instructions.

I turn the tv on it stay on for one second then it goes off thats when the lamp button comes on its red. then the red light comes on and it stays on although the tv is off the red lamp light is still on

Your lamp timer may be maxed out which means you should change the lamp and reset the lamp timer. When the timer max's out it won't turn on till it is reset.

Wont turn on and lamp has been replaced.

You most likely have to reset the lamp timer. If it gets maxed out it will not turn on till it is reset. Check your manual to see how to reset.

Red lamp light comes on. do i need a tech or can i replace

You will be able to do it your self.. On the back of your tv there will be a door held in place by philips screws. Take the door off and then the lamp is secured by a few more coin screws( a nickle works). Remove them and remove your lamp.. Install your new lamp be very carefull not to touch your bulb. (it causes premature bulb failure..due to the oils on your skin) put all the screws and door back on (will not operate without the door) plug it in wait the 90 seconds for mitsubishi to reset then your done.. here is your lamp part number

52" plasma tv - turns on - and I hear something reset inside

i hear a clicking noise- the clicking noise is most likely you ballast trying to power the lamp, but failing. this may indicate a defective ballast if you have recenty purchased a new lamp.I recomend you have your lamp tested to help narrow down the cause of the defect. It's highly unlikely for a new lamp to be dead on arrival
