Your belt is either stretched or the wrong size or the brush bushings are worn and allowing the brush to wobble or the motor is loose in its housing. You need to check all.
Rotate the brush and try to wobble it from the pulley end.
Flip the belt inside out, it if appears cupped, cracked or shiney and slips easily on and off the brush it is stretched. Generally this unit needs anew belt evrey 6 months, broken or not, they get hot and stretch. Do not buy a new belt by matching size, a worn belt can be 20-30% oversized and not broken but totally useless.
The motor shaft should be cleaned with W/D 600 grit sand paper. Motor should have no wobble in the shaft

Filter Queen majestic vacuum power roller brush smells like burning plastic

Does it smell like burning plastic or burning rubber? Regardless, turn it over and take off bottom plate as if you were changing the belt and examine where it’s coming from. You will see obvious signs of friction with the belt or brush roller rubbing against an object. Sometimes a foreign object will get stuck causing this problem.

How often is it necessary to change the filter one on a Filter Queen Majestic?

The best thing to do to both, keep your Majestic suction and air flow strongest, and keep from pulling dirt & dust from being pulled past the filters which can cause damage to the motor, and charcoal filter, replace the filter once a month. If you use it longer than that it will both loose suction and will cause your Medipure or Enviropure "charcoal" filters to wear out prematurely. Mark the change date right on the filter or on your calendar to help keep track.

The little belt inside the head of the vaccum with the beater bar is not always spinning therefor is melting. Is it normal for the metal pin that it is going around on to get really hot?

The Belt should be changed at this point. This will allow for the proper tension to be on the brush between the motor assembly (metal pin) and the brush so that it spins at the proper speed.

Is it "normal" for the metal pin (motor shaft) to get hot.... not normal, however in the problem you have described, yes it is normal for this situation.

Change the belt and your problem should go away.

I got a used filter queen majestic vacuum at a yard sale and want to fix it up and start with new filters where do i get the filters and how do i change them

Hello,

Well you bought a really great vacuum cleaner. The Filter Queen's are extremely durable and very well made vacuums. They sell brand new for over $2500, so picking one up at a yard sale was a great find by you.

There are several different filters on this model that need to be replaced. Here's a link to a 6 month supply kit that we sell, which contains all the filters needed for a 6 month period:

The only other part that you should be replaced on a regular basis is the belt (only if the vacuum has a motorized power nozzle for cleaning carpets). The belt should be changed every 6 months or so. Even if it doesn't break, these belts will stretch out and not work as well as a new belt would. Here's a link to the belt that will fit your Filter Queen Majestic:

Here's a link to the owner’s manual for a newer Majestic model. This is the only one that is available online. Even though it's a newer model, the maintenance and care will be exactly the same for your model.

Getting power to attatchment?

There has been a recall on the hose, wand, and power nozzle. Mine just caught fire! Burned a whole in my carpet. I'd contact their customer service department and find out if yours is on the recall list.

There is power but the motor seems to not turn, therefore, there is no movement via the rollers. please help

The belt which turns the roller brush is probably worn and therefore not turning the roller brush. You can get a replacement here:

Replacing broken handle on filter queen vacume

It is always best to have a cirtified & Authorized Service Tech or Center do the work and only with genuine Filter Queen parts and supplies. Both can be found at 800-344-1840 or in Iowa 888-637-4692

If a Authorized Tech can not come out,
  1. Always unplug unit from electric outlet.
  2. Remove top like you were changing filters, also the crown.
  3. Remove cap under handle.
  4. Remove 3 screws from SN plate then remove plate.
  5. Seperate upper from lower.
  6. lift cardboard piece and Silencing Filter.
  7. Now you can remove the 4 screw that hold the handle.
  8. Repace handle and reverse the above steps.

Broken belt on filter queen majestic power nozzle

Hi,
Try removing the roller assembly again, and check the end bearing pieces are the correct way around. Often they have 2 or more settings.
Check all debris is removed from location slots, and see if the roller is actually going into position before the cover is attatched.

My filter queen majestic needs help

Try replacing the belt. It's not a difficult procedure, just unplug the machine, turn it over, remove the two screws which hold the chrome plate on and you will see the belt. Take the roller brush out by pulling up on one side, then remove it from it's housing. Then you will see what will probably be a worn out belt, rough on the inside and stretched. Replace the belt making sure to rotate the roller to ensure proper alignment. Then replace the chrome plate, and plug it in.
