Samsung RS253BAVQ freezer Keeps defrosting, and wont dump ice

My freezer will not make Ice which I thought was the problem, but then I realized when I put ice in the ice tray, sometimes it was melting. So I think my freezer is defrosting so often that it will not allow the ice tray to dump. has anyone else had this problem?

One posibility is that it is not defrosting a all and that the ice is building up on the evaporator coil behind the rear cover inside the freezer. This condition will block the flow of cold air. Remove the back panel to see what your have. Either no ice , light frost, partial icing or heavy icing blocking the fins. Complete light frosting is normal.

Ice maker has ice motor doen't dump the ice

Your ice-maker may need to be "hard-reset". To do this, perform a manual-defrost by emptying out the freezer (and fridge) and shutting all power off to your unit for several hours (at least half a day unless you can be sure the temp in the freezer has fully reached ambient. Next, with freezer empty, restore power, make sure the "ice" setting is set to off, then set the forced power-freeze mode (you can refill the fridge, but leave the freezer empty for now. When the power-freeze completes (at least 2.5 hours) you can refill the freezer, set the "ice" mode to block/crushed (IE something other than off) and then hit the "black reset button" to restart the ice-maker. IF it still will not dump the cubes then the ice sensor/control board may have failed.

My icemaker is making huge chunks of ice in bin

You will need to replace the termination thermostat. What sounds like is happening is. Every 8 to 10 hr. your freezer goes into defrost for a set period of time. There is a termination thermostat that senses the temp at you evaporator coil in you freezer. When you heaters come on they defrost the ice from your coil. once the termination thermostat senses the temp has gotten to a preset degree, it cuts the power to the heaters. This keeps the heaters from staying on the whole period and making your freezer warm. After the pre set time period the timer turns the compressor back on. What it sounds like is happening is the termination thermostat is not opening, cutting the heaters off. By not doing so, it's letting your freezer get above freezing, melting your ice some. When the timer advances into cooling again it freezes your ice together. I would say it's your water valve leaking but that would make large pieces of ice that the ice maker has trouble dumping and also sometimes a large chunk that does not look like cubs. That would also eventually freeze the inlet tube closed..

ICEMAKER WILL NOT DUMP ICE

I'm not making any promises. But after years of selling refrigerators, without having to call a tech...Make sure your freezer is at zero degrees, as the icemaker is activated by temp. not only time. Ice cream should be hard as a rock. Try setting your freezer colder; and don't do the human nature thing by checking every 30mins to see if it make ice. You'll just dump the cold air out. The bucket stays full of ice until the next cycle. That may be why it stalled.
Good Luck,
Jeff

Ice turning into a solid block in freezer. Samsung Refigerator

Hey, Your defrost thermostat or defrost heater may need to be replaced. The frost should be removed every 8 hours automatically. The ice is not freezing all the way into cubes because the temp. is too warm in the freezer to make ice.
The wire may just be a ground wire BUT it may have electrical current going in it.
This is dangerous and need to be repaired. Hope this helps.

Noisy ice maker

I too have the incredibly loud ice dumping going on in my 4door new Samsung refrigerator that echoes throughout the house and could wake up a neighbor!! All the above solutions appear to be from repairmen that are not giving any solutions to the VOLUME issue of the ice being dumped. I prefer not to spend
$300 for a visit to tell me that "that's just the way it is", you'll have to live with it. Call Samsung or write them and tell them
the ridiculously loud sound from the ice dropping in the tray is
unacceptable. I'm going to!!

SAMSUNG RS253BAWW NOT WORKING

the ice maker wont cycle untill the temp of the ice is around 10 degrees so if the freezer is at 15 or 20 due to some other malfunction then you will see the maker full of ice but it wont harvest and make another batch. so you could have a sensor bad, control malfunction, refrigeration issue, compressor, defrost system malfunction(you mentioned ice build up)
