Samsung UN40EH5050FXZA TV will not power on. I replaced the power-board still nothing. Unplugged the control board from the power-board and the TV does light up.

No service manual or tools then its probably a kind of guesswork looking on the other boards for possible bulged (sometimes leaking) capacitors before ordering other boards or just bad not-bulging capacitors of 10 volt for replace them with the same size and capacitance but only 6 or 10 Volt higher or as high as possible as its corresponding the size of the original capacitor should be the same so you can replace them between the other components.
If there are bad capacitors on the other boards.
But 1 broken fuse-resistor can also happen and be the problem or some times a bad soldering on 1 or more active components ( components with heat sink like mosfets or voltage regulators) or just even only a fcc cable connector problem.

Good luck with it

I was watching my Samsung UN40EH5050FXZA T.V. last night and it just went blank, no power to it at all it seems. What can I check to fix it. Only 2.5 years old but out of warranty...

Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

I have a LG 50PG60UD - AA television that appears to be overheating. TV starts up ok and keeps working without any major issues. A couple of times recently I have unintentionally switched it off and when...

This isn't an easy fix, it sounds like your power supply board is bad or there is a main board problem. I'd suspect a faulty power supply capacitor or heatsink missing, but you have to bring it in to a tech to know for sure.

Kindly do not keep attempting to turn it on, as you are likely to spoil some other boards/parts/components of the TV. Look for any loose contacts in power out let, RC jack, cable and socket. In order to ensure, it is not caused by the input device, connect a DVD player
and see. Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.
If problem persists, I suggest it is better to refer it to a qualified service technician, since the back cover has to be opened for investigation/rectification.

Unlock truflat tv without remote?

ok this totally stressed me out but I figured it out and my TV is ON!! I purchased a really cheap universal remote at a .99 cent store. Sat in front of the TV and followed the directions on the manual for my new remote, keep in mind there was a red light lit on the TV, when all directions on connecting the remote with the TV were complete I pressed on and the TV turned on. I hope this helps!!!!!
