it may be rite wat u r suspecting...........other problems can be like software problem which u will have to flash via connectin to a system........ or very least possible is that it might be your display problem also...........which u can easily get repaired
i opened mine up by unscrewing the whole lot, even the mainboard, and reattached the ribbon cable and the data cable, there are only 2 cables attached to it just make sure they are connected by disconnecting them them reinserting them, mine worked perfectly after doing this :) good luck
